dogger
I’ve got a small table that sits at the side of my couch for putting drinks on so decided to spruce up the top a wee bit 😁 needs fitting and varnishing but you get the idea👍🏻
ditchman
are you going to stain it first ?

The table itself is just aged varnished beech I think so will try get a tinted varnish to match it in failing that a dark stain for it all🤔 This is the legs
fatchap
Personally I would use resin on the top. Total Boat or Entropy. It would look cracking. Build a mold around the edges and pour in the resin, it will find its own level then a quick run over with a blowtorch to remove the air bubbles and that would look outstanding. Also a lot tougher than varnish and longer lasting. Just a thought. P

P Yes a nice colour resin will make it realy stand out , or even better a few different mixed slightly you give streaks of different colours

The liquid pigments look ok at first but have a habit of blending together during the curing period and you end up with just one colour, usually a very dark colour. Project ruined. TIGHTCHOKE
Are the rims still raised?
dogger
Very slightly the varnish has built up a layer a bit
TIGHTCHOKE
Personally, I would have set them in to be flush and even possibly had a piece of glass cut to finish it off.
dogger
Might still get a bit glass👍🏻
