samboy
Hi gang. I'm looking to buy the above so was wondering if the John Shooter ones are any good. About £150/200 is my budget. Thanks all.

DUNKS
I have a john shooter one and am very pleased with it; I have the bridle leather one. The straps are really thick well finished leather. On leather goods I always look for well finished and rolled edges to straps. My son has the oiled leather one and that too is nice. Hi I have just had a look at the Ogdens slips and I cant see a leather one! Nor can I see an offer to build a bespoke one. I am a bit of a numpty when it comes to searching, perhaps you have a link please.
Bungle The Bear
I like my Teales one, good quality and decent prices
Wylye
Croots slips are fantastic - if you can find one s/h. The new price is eye watering. Harkila sell a really good leather slip. Sportsman are the agents I think and the price is not too savage.

Hi I have a Croots slip and the leather straps are just riveted over and not sewn like the shooter ones.
Wylye
Mmmmm....... just had a look at my Croots slip and mine are sewn and riveted. Maybe yours is an earlier version before they changed the spec.

Wylye
Farleys at Kibworth have a Harkila waxed leather slip for £179.99. Bargain in my opinion.

Wylye
Maybe mine is an early one then. I bought it for £25 at a car boot.
