TIGHTCHOKE
From their own web site; A world of outdoor adventure will arrive at Weston Park on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th September. Replacing the legendary Midland Game Fair, Our Countryside Rocks! will pioneer the next generation of countryside events. It will celebrate the magnificence of the great British countryside and our rural heritage whilst promoting awareness of the wider issues of environmental protection, conservation, habit management and sustainability. This exciting new event format will include new activities such as photography, mountain biking, horse trekking, climbing as well as retaining the traditional country pursuits elements including shooting, airguns, fishing, gundogs, terrier and lurcher events and falconry to name but a few. But when you go to their website it is apparently not on in the above format. All VERY odd! Edited September 15, 2021 by TIGHTCHOKE
Ian willetts
That’s the thing it’s confusing what is actually going to be on offer after I read the bad reports from Ragly hall which is where we normally visit but due to other commitments we did not go

Shop local or if you have to order online. Waste of time fuel and money .

Walker570
Have to agree with the last two comments. I went to the first event at Weston Park 59---60 ---61 I cannot remember maybe a year earlier. I know I had passed my driving test and my Mum had finished the milk round so I borrowed the Ford 5cwt van. The entrance was the gate on the eastern end as you come along the A5 and all the tents and set ups where dotted all over the place. I had broken the bail arm on an Intrepid reel and two weeks after talking with their rep on their stand I received a new one free gratis through the post. THAT was a real adventure in those days. Up the old A5 from Atherstone, no dual carriageways. Been to quite a few since and had stands on one or two but I wouldn't waste my time today. It is not just field sports, agriculture has gone the same way with the Royal no longer on and all agricultural demos being specif. The National Ploughing Match is a survivor I think, but that is not what it was.

old man
Last time I went it was heaving with clothing shops. Very little of interest to me.
Dougy
The shooting show may be more to your taste if your interested in shooting. If your interested in watching folk walk round in fancy dress looking like something out of the Rydale tent then fill your boots. Looking at the web page it is saying its not going ahead. Salopian
I DON'T THINK IT IS ON AT WESTON PARK ????????
Ian willetts
Thanks for all the responses we came to the same conclusion it wasn’t going ahead as there information on the web was last years cancellation and previous fairs nothing up to date which I thought was a bad way to promote something that is getting less popular with people who enjoy their pursuits in the field .The shooting show would have been a better day out for me but it’s our anniversary and are away up the lakes and she won’t do a detour on Sunday across to donny thanks again
