mgsontour
Just got myself a brace of kippers for breakfast and normally give them a quick blast in microwave and serve with brown buttered bread with marmalade. I nose there are some gastro connoisseurs and lads who enjoy their grub, so how do you cook and what do you serve them with? Cheers

sky gipsy
I get mine from the smokehouse up the road at Glassen Dock. They come in a vac packed, so I just boil them in the bag for a while until warm. Simples, and stops the house smelling too much for those who may not appreicate it! yates
Pan fry with butter normally for me. Although I have to confess that I also have the tinned stuff. Eight minutes boiled in the tin, poached egg and toast. No mess no smelly kitchen. Yes I know that I am a heathen.
ehb102
My dad does kippers by frying them in butter - outside on the gas barbecue to stop the house smelling for a week 😀 He had a very wide aluminium frying pan he keeps for the job. I have been tempted to try, but not got round to it - and although I love kippers, they are an occasional treat as they can trigger gout for me. I grill mine and have with hot buttered toast.
