P08
Hi there, I did vermin control many years ago, but not any more, was reading a shooting magazine the other day, anyhow there was a list of birds to be controlled, I was amazed to see the Blue Jay was on that list, I wonder how many members have ever seen a Blue Jay? P08
Ultrastu, with your reply, I read a British hunting mag, and I thought have I got it wrong, did a search on the web, it does state we have Blue Jays here, Hmm
Fisheruk
I’ve seen Blue Jays in North Carolina, not really considered a pest though. Grey Squirrels and Ground Hogs are more of a nuisance to crops.

rimfire4969
I think there has been a bit of confusion in the wording between the Blue Jay and our native Jay.
Ultrastu
The blue Jay of North America is totally blue all over. An amazing looking bird . Our UK Jay is brown /tan and we have the black and white magpie No blue Jay's in the UK. Nore any of the African green Jay's either . The mag you were reading obviously did no research on the topic . chrisjpainter
Shooting a blue jay in this country would be tricky. You'd first have to get past every single twitcher across the country who'd flocked to see it!

Rim Fire
you could probably shoot one as it would not be an indiginous bird to this country the same as you can shoot the green parrot
