30-6
Don't know if this has been done before, so apologies if it has. With all this bird flu going on, is it safe to eat pigeons, pheasant and duck at the moment? Seen on the news today swans found dead at Caerphilly castle in Wales. yates
I'm sure that I read something that advised only take or eat game that you had shot or seen fall to thr ground. The assumption being if the bird was flying it must be healthy and therefore safe to eat
old'un
interesting snip-it from the GWCT website. Well-cooked birds can be safely consumed by humans and animals alike. In certain circumstances it may be appropriate to wash a dog after it has been out (with a pet appropriate shampoo) and if you and your dog have been on areas such as known infected sites you/they should not then work on other shoots until you are satisfied that you have eliminated the potential for spreading. samboy
I think you would eat anything if you were hungry enough.
Walker570
As said, cook it fully through should be no problem and usual hygene when preparing . Folk have to be struggling to pick up a dead bird and take it home to consume.
Scully
Hadn’t even given it a thought; too late now anyhow! 🙂 As well as us eating them I’ve fed them to the dogs and the ferrets; no one has grown another head so far.
