Near the field that I take my dog a walk there are blackthorn for about 60m x 15m wide. I've not really took a lot of notice but tonight I noticed the sloes are a light brown colour and all shrivelled up. Has anyone else noticed this near them?

Not sloes, but my cherry plum tree has suffered shrivelled up fruit this year. The cherry plums turned brown and all have now dropped off.

As said, sloes don`t normally appear until a bit later.

Be interested to see harrycatcat1`s pictures.

I doubt I'll get enough cherrys this year to make any ice-cream with. There the size of peas, and aphids have attacked a Victoria plum tree to the extent its leafless.
