Andycf
This time of year some of the ground I shoot over from hides has got small ponds which unfortunately produce numerous types of biting insects. I have tried all sorts of odour emitting creams / sprays etc without success. Therefore can anyone offer any advice on the best type of gloves (not mittens please) that would prevent biting insects ?Thank you in advance for any replies. wymberley
Because of what they are, these have a decent cuff. Aircrew gloves may well be the answer if you can find any. These are they, but new - used are often there to be found: Buy Leather Aircrew Pilot Gloves | RAF Flying Gloves | Southcombe Gloves | Southcombe Gloves Edited June 22, 2023 by wymberley

Ultrastu
Thermacell Is what you need . It clears the area 20 m all around you of every flying bug . I use the thermacell back packer when camping. But there are personal devices that are wearable . I don't go camping with out mine .
steve_b_wales
Personally, I wear disposable gloves. A bit warm in this weather though, but they work and I can also feel my rifle trigger etc.

That sounds a good plan; I get hands bitten sometimes when fishing and must try that to see if I can handle the line through them. It used to melt the plastic on a Silva compass amongst other things but I've never seen it melt fishing line. Maybe it gets washed off my hands too much when fishing? JohnfromUK
I was also reminded that deet destroys the coatings on lenses - not just binos, telescopes etc, but also spectacle lenses coatings.
