JDog
This is early for the Cotswolds but this farmer has 2,500 acres to combine so he has to get on with it.

The harvest now seem to start earlier every year , last year ours started on the 11 th July which beat the earliest previous start by one day , this year we had a very warm / hot June which have no doubt brought it forward , our Winter barley could start be cut next week if the weather is right, but at the moment it aint looking that good . Still not all doom and gloom as we have had some fields of Rye cut by contractors and if it is dry later on today I will try and shoot a few Pigeons for the first time on this years stubble . Yesterday I did see several starting to sit on the wires above the ripening o s r fields , Summer is certainly getting a move on .

marsh man
Started on the Winter barley today on our place , exactly the same time as last year , with rain on it's way it might well be a start and stop type of campaign this year , still early days and a long way off from panic stations .
