arjimlad
I emailed BASC on Friday evening as a member to ask about my Gerber machete. Had a very prompt email exchange this morning confirming that I need to cut a bit off the tip as per the photos, to make it legal.

I have an original Leatherman, it is NOT a lock knife and surely as long as you have a reason to be carrying it all will be well.

old man
My understanding, poor though it may be is that if the blade locks and you get a peeler that's had a bad day you are up the steps, same with Opinel knives? I only carry my lock blade if out after deer, the reason then would be to prevent it closing on my fingers? A complete **** up as per usual. B686
The little A holes were at it again chasing each other about with bloody great machetes in southend the other week . But never mind when this ban comes into force it will solve all that😂.

What constitutes good reason would be for a court decide and boils down to the burden of proof that you haven't broken the law on you to prove.
