this comes into force in the next couple of days ...machetes....butterfly knives...lock knives

QUESTION

what is the law on carrying a Leatherman in a pouch on your belt...........it is a lock knife and has something in common with a butterfly knife ?

I have an original Leatherman, it is NOT a lock knife and surely as long as you have a reason to be carrying it all will be well.

My understanding, poor though it may be is that if the blade locks and you get a peeler that's had a bad day you are up the steps, same with Opinel knives?

I only carry my lock blade if out after deer, the reason then would be to prevent it closing on my fingers?

A complete **** up as per usual.

My understanding is if your blade locks, or the blade is over 3" you need 'good reason' to carry it rather than carrying it incase you need it. What constitutes good reason would be for a court decide and boils down to the burden of proof that you haven't broken the law on you to prove.
