enfieldspares Posted October 4, 2023 Report Share Posted October 4, 2023 I think that they are too near what's on either side the same unfortunate fate of the .280 Remington vis a vis .30/06 and .270 WCF or two near something that can do that role AND more besides...so 24 bore vs 20 bore as with .25-06 vs .270 WCF. The guns do come up in auction from time to time and there was one at Holt's some years ago. Also of course I'd say that if the 24 bore being considered weighs anyway as much as a 20 bore of same action type and barrel length there's no benefit and much disbenefit. How times change. I think I had shot for at least 15 years before I ever saw a 20 bore. It was all 12’s, .410’s and the odd 16 back then.
