welsh1
love a sweet and sour veggie stirfry, the shrimps are a nice touch. Farm foods used to do a great sweet and sour sauce, but not had it in stock for the last six months.

TIGHTCHOKE
Further to the Great Rice debate. I use either Lidl or Aldi microwave rice, quick, easy and no waste. At 45p a pouch it's a no brainer. Billy why are you wasting so much time and money?

Billy why are you wasting so much time and money? thank you .........some of the micro rice is grossly over priced............in some stores you you will pay £1.80/pkt....get it online in a box of 12 and you will pay less than a £1.00/pkt.... Stonepark
Rice is easy, twice the amount of water by weight plus 10ml. So 75g rice, 150ml+10ml 100g rice, 210ml water. Add rice, water and salt to taste to a pot with a lid, bring to boil for 1min, switch off cooker, stir once and leave for 20min. Out comes properly cooked, fluffy rice for less than 20p per portion including electric costs.
