Worm?

Found this on the lawn today, there were about half a dozen of the, they are about the thickness of cotton and about 4 inches long, never seen them before, any idea what they are

Was going to put nematodes but island gun beat me to it.

Any animal poo about in the garden and do you have dogs or cats is a follow on question!

I think they can lie dormant in egg state but hatch under right heat / moisture!

Yes I think you are right Dougy  , way to long and to thin , strange reptile, might had been bought from a retile centre and then released

They are parasites. Don't think they eat humans..

I suggest this may be correct and they could be  the cat or dog form of them.

I am now buying into Dougy proposal in that is the Horsehair worm.

Think Dougy might be right with Horse hair worms, just had a quick look and they seem to meet the description and we do have a fish pond, strange how I have never seen them before.

 we dont have a dog now but we do get bloody cats comeing in the garden
