Mice!
What a legend, after crashing out last year he came back yet again, even at 39 years old the team backed him and he took the stage in style, threading through gaps and powering over the line. The modern riders just don't have the character or flair of Cav or Sagan, but the show of respect from every rider it seemed congratulating him on his achievement was great to see. 👏👏👏👏👏
chrisjpainter
39 years old, cycles for 4 hours, then hits 70km/h to blow the competition away! What an absolute cycling legend!
moondoggy
Superb ride and a brilliant sprinter, and he didn’t feel the need to grab his crotch to celebrate. More needs to be made of achievements like this in the UK. Well done Mark, you deserve it. 👍👏🚵♂️🏆🥇
JKD
What a fantastic achievement 👏😁 and at an age that most sports people would have given up a while ago !!! Didn't he make that look easy ?! Pure class !!! WOW....... GO MANX MISSILE 😀😀😀👏👏👏 Edit to add.... Just seen that his chain came off as he crossed the line 😧😬 Edited July 4 by JKD

The jockeying for position over the last kilometre was a site to see. A record that will stand for a very, very long time, and agreed, great to see all of the congratulations. I don't think he's bothered about that, except that it's hard work 😟 He's not "in it to win it", he's just a sprint specialist,,,,, stage wins are his thing 😃 Hopefully they'll set a meeting up with him and Eddy 🙏😀 Edited July 4 by JKD

Yes they did meet up, after Cav equalled EM's record. It would be really nice/great if another meet up occurred 😀 The handover of 'the batton' 😁

I didn't catch it yesterday but I'm sure Cav asked Pogacar not to beat his record 😄 even if he does it's going to take a good while. There was a bad crash into the barrier behind the leaders that I hadn't seen yesterday, not heard it mentioned??

There was a bad crash into the barrier behind the leaders that I hadn't seen yesterday, not heard it mentioned?? Yes indeed 🙂 Pogacar is looking great again, but like you said, Cav's record is safe for many years ! Surprised they haven't mentioned who crashed behind them,,,, looking again it was the 9th or 10th placed sprinter who went down hard 🫣 https://www.eurosport.com/cycling/tour-de-france/2024/the-greatest-of-all-time-mark-cavendish-lands-astonishing-35th-stage-win-at-the-tour-de-france_vid2173907/video.shtml OUCH !!! 😬
Raja Clavata
Good to see Renshaw congratulating him too, he contributed so much to Cavs success over the years. The team effort and strategy was lost on me before I started cycling myself, I now find it captivating. 8 hours ago, Penelope said: This much GOAT! Not sure that goats Kahoonas come close to Cavs 😂, competitive sprints are brutal and often on the edge of carnage. Relatively speaking he made it look pretty straightforward yesterday. I’ve never raced competitively but at the end of our club chain gang rides we’d often do a sprint finish and even that was pretty intense. To use his own words, I’m still buzzing for him. He has to, he's in his team 😅😅 but it will have been genuine they were a great team. Great picture, and non of the kids were born when he first won!! epic
Smokersmith
His cricket twin GOAT Jimmy Anderson was also doing heroics at the same time … first bowl for months and 7 wickets.
JKD
Cavendish has another chance today to add to his huge tally of stage wins ! I personally don't think he'll risk crashing, so will only go for a win if his team mates have led him near to the front, like the other day 🙂
