Gun cabinet - five gun, full length, Brattonsound

*SOLD*
Have given up shotgun shooting after half a century , but not my beloved Weihrauch HW100 PCP air rifle, so no longer need a gun cabinet - shotguns all went today. .410s to Wroxham gunshop including my moderated .410, 12 bores handed in to Norfolk constabulary to be destroyed - apparently nobody wants s/s 12 bores that can't handle steel shot anymore; everyone wants over and unders these days - shame.

Now available is my excellent Brattonsound five gun cabinet. It can take rifles with scopes and has an internal pistol box set into the top. Comes with two keys and two pistol box keys.

We're moving home soon and no space or need for such a highly engineered piece of equipment, but beware, it's extremely heavy and is  a two person lift and a sack truck may be a good idea. It's currently bolted to the wall of our larder and if you buy it you can help me release it.

Located in North Norfolk NR28 between North Walsham and Mundesley on the coast near the Bacton gas terminal.

The cabinet will fit in a van, pickup truck, trailer or estate car.

Cost around £200 new, so interested in £75 ovno.

Just been speaking to a fella from Suffolk who would have been interested in a SxS but he’s a tad short on cash and needs a bigger gun safe - there was a match made in heaven!

I would had been very interested when I had six s x s but like you I am also cutting down , not giving up but no longer want six guns .

Your gun cabinet is an excellent buy for someone that will easily outlive then no matter what the age is . Good Luck with the sale , it will be gone very soon .

So what 12 sxs went in the scrap.?  Come on upset me.

My father's BSA ejector , brother's AYA non ejector and my tradional English s/s, ejector, all deemed worthless  by a local gunshop that's  got racks of s/s 12 bores unwanted. Shame but what can you do?

Gun sales...... even last year I was in a gunshop and there were a couple of blokes in there who asked if the shop would buy in his uncles guns as he was having to give up shooting.  The bloke behind the counter said NO.!  He said that they had racks of nice s/h guns but nothing was shifting and they had a rack of guns in there that if you put tags on them you wouldn't be able to tell them from brand new. Only a week or so ago a friend was in a nearby gunshop and they had only sold two guns that week.! The only few things that they had sold had been shooting clothing. There are numerous reasons for this which have been covered on here in the past but sadly I fear that things are past the point of no return,  when you see 5000 + guns going to give away auction prices and exported AND if anyone looks at the guns for sale list, loads of views but virtually no sale.  There aren't even the odd silly two bob offers.  It's so sad.

A question is what happens to these nice guns that people put on her for a fair price but that price is way way above the market price.  Example a side by side which may have had a value of maybe 600 to 800 probably wouldn't generate a value of 150 quid... probably no bid at all!

Still no word then.

This is becoming an EPIC.

Knowing what the final outcome of who got what from the op wouldn't come amiss , and I would had thought that when you get more than one inquiry for an item then that would be the normal thing to do :hmm:

Sorry for not updating earlier and sorry too for disappointing at least one interested party.  The cabinet has generated a lot of interest and hopefully the deal will be closed later today. I am kind of sorry that this means the end of my shooting career apart from my air rifle, which I never want to give up.

Best wishes to you all.

I’m a gun hoarder, if my wife would let me, I would have 3-4 cabinets just so I can fill it with £30-£200 guns!

Same here, I have four cabinets that were all full at one time but times change, sadly i'll soon be down to two or even worse one.
