100% Grass Fed Ribeye

Picked up a ‘meat hamper’ the other day, wanted to try some 100% grass fed beef, see if you can actually taste any difference.

Started off tonight with a pair of ribeye, cooked up with some fried onions, broccoli, boiled spuds and carrots. Finished the onions off with a splash of brandy.

Can honestly say they were fantastic … even the fat was melt in your mouth … very good flavour… the wife also said it was excellent.

Works out about twice the cost of the usual ALDI dry aged rib eye… we will assess the other cuts…

Does look tasty.

Whereas rib eye is all very nice, the cost as a just cut of steak actually ruined one of the tastiest joints on the whole body of beef.

Fore Rib either Boned and rolled or left on the bone was once one of the most sort after joints,

Slap some parsnips and spuds round that bad boy.

Lloyd they look really good, both pre and post cooking.  I’ve been seeing a lot of grass fed beef coming up,on various bbq sites and was wondering what the fuss was all about - your pics make me think, that it’s justified.

I have a farm local to me that does their own milk pasteurised on the farm and they do their own beef. Namely from Dexter and Belted Galloway beasts. They got that popular they had to throw some Angus into the mix just to meet demand.

Its really not hard to taste and see the difference in the meat. That meal looked amazing

The taste was very good mate, and even the fatty bits that you’d usually find a bit grizzly were very soft and melted in your mouth.

Whether they’re all like that I don’t know, it’s hard to get a bad rib eye usually.

Will have to buy some more and keep trying :)
