I paid only £15 for the heated gilet I have. Power pack was £25 if I recall correctly. I wear it for sitting up high seats before it gets light in Winter. Had it two winters.
The gilet is SO warm I have never yet needed to switch on the power!

The £15 el cheapo heated gilet which I bought is just the opposite and very slippy.
I think it would be ideal under a shooting coat, but must admit that I have never tried it.

Was it an Ebay Chinese special?

You raise some interesting points;

I have found difficulty on getting anything made for a Chinaman to fit accurately as their comparative size guides are way off.

The drag you mention is certainly a valid consideration as you must be comfortable when shooting, as you say for ordinary use it would probably be fine.

I shall have a look around and see whether I will part with my hard earned for one of these heated gilets.

Yep, I know what you mean about sizing, I even emailed the seller and asked what size I needed to order but it was still a little snug at XL.

I am giving it another go, I have ordered a smooth one, I have looked at the size chart and ordered a XL this one also comes with a battery but its bigger 16000mAh as opposed to the last one (micro fleece) at 10000mAh….https://www.amazon.co.uk/BEKOMIYA-Heated-10000mAh-Temperature-Lightweight/dp/B0CG8GCKGP/ref=sr_1_5?crid=UYLG7BONLE2C&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.gn8TFg-RvqxSKJ8qu0Wi6QOyY-E7KIWuabjSirKnjB4F9sW_8-y2-AT5FeEvw_HD2md98_nnacCdo6Jh1KUjRE9iek2qMqAiigqoGKzymPHy3oldd5Ua7JZI7ceUlBNr0YfX1tJIlFRmgUjceYrIy1rUEsRVqHanxg4Gn-QguhUzYkJSB1Oe24qoPlYwE_E5v0v40FoiirGY6PewBthnuEYLljOY1S1qqESEZxoByqOj8m3jmGldKJaGHxQ2NhLx3YZk2IRPkQ7I_41OZ_wFlh47XDaVb7q5HJE3eSh8nDU.lKsyh4vWuNhZT6OtfDhWhtn_d8PL7eoC2rYi2YfvPI0&dib_tag=se&keywords=BEKOMIYA%2BHeated%2BGilet%2Bfor%2BMen&nsdOptOutParam=true&qid=1732036195&s=apparel&sprefix=bekomiya%2Bheated%2Bgilet%2Bfor%2Bmen%2B%2Cfashion%2C82&sr=1-5&th=1&psc=1

I also like the look of this one but it does not come with a battery...https://www.amazon.co.uk/FERNIDA-Heated-Electric-Battery-Included/dp/B08FJ7G83C/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8&th=1&psc=1

Hello, My first heated waist coat was a Chinese special, It fell apart with the stitching and stopped working , It lasted 2 year and about £15 so not much lost, I have the Deer Hunter but if i were after buying another it would be New Forest Clothing own brand on special offer, Yes a tad more than Amazon but would have a decent warranty and better made, £10 for a Power Bank

Hello, If i was buying another heated jacket it would be the fleece type, wear over a shirt with a thin top and shooting coat, and a scarf, i realy feel the cold and have 3 sets of under wear thermals from primark, my son bought me a set from M and S and i find very very warm without the need to switch on heated waistcoat, He also bought me a power bank which lasts all day on low heat so it must be the a high mAh , I have not looked at the heated thermals, If you shooting in - 10 add some warm gloves and thermal hat and you should be ok,

So do I , that was the only year when I had my brothers paratropper's camo jacket on one day when I went wildfowling in what they called Black ice ( freezing drizzle ) when I got home my hands were so cold I couldn't pull the frozen zip down , my ole chap was at home and when he pulled the zip down he stood the jacket up in the corner of the living room as it had froze solid :drinks:

I’ll write it all up when I get back mate and have the laptop.

We saw massive numbers the first day but they were hanging just out of range.

So cold that night the duck ponds froze so shoot cancelled, same happened last year 🤦‍♂️

Didn’t see hardly any today, but the few small skeins that came over did commit right in to the decoys and I dropped a few nice birds.

Had a brilliant flight tonight on a large pond where we took 20 duck.

Last goose flight tomorrow before we head home.

I took my GoPro this year so have some great footage I’ll edit together once back home :)

Looking forward to the update Lloyd and glad you are getting some shooting in some proper wildfowling weather , it's been really cold here the last two days but the wind have dropped, the sky is clear so a sharp frost in the morning .   :good:MM

My actual chest measurement is 45” so I ordered XL will see what it fits like when it arrives .

Might help others if you say where you got if from and what it cost?

I am around a 44” chest.

The Amazon one says an XL is 49”… assume this is wrong though?

I am a XXL in my other non heated gilets, seeland etc, who’s XXL is a 44” chest.

I've ordered the odd item of clothing from AliExpress and I'm at least XXXL! In European terms, I normally fit small/medium clothing 😂

Are they that much better?

Comparing to one on Amazon, similar price, Amazon one has 6 heat zones, NFC has 3.

Hello, I did not find the chinese one off ebay any better than the Deer Hunter, I only bought it as was very reduced in price, If i was looking again i reckon the New Forest own brand heated fleece would be my choice even with 3 heated areas ,  the deer hunter came with free power bank and i bought another of same so both on last all day on low, Over a shirt with thermal top and jacket seems to work for me, Am beating on Tuesday so will be wearing the latter, Although it forecasts rain😒

These heated gilets are meant to-be worn close to your body, the first one I ordered from Amazon was the micro fleece XL, it was a snug (not tight) fit, it was a nice gilet well made and the heat from it was good but it did not feel right when swinging the gun, the second one I ordered, which came yesterday was a smooth type, this felt much better under my shooting coat and had less drag when swinging the gun, I ordered the XL again and fit was again snug but not tight, it is lightly padded and comes with a battery 16000mAh, its a nice gilet and well made, my only criticism would be the heating zones are not as described, I can feel heat from the neck, shoulders and upper back pads and some heat in the lower front (pocket area) but very little from the upper chest and lower back, there does not seem to-be any heating pads in these areas.

Sizing does seem to verie between suppliers but the XL in these gilets is about right for my measured chest of 45”, if it was a shooting coat I think you would need to go up a size or two.

I have found with other thermals that a bit of a gap / looser fit allows a layer of warm air to be between the garment and your skin.

I have no idea if these are the same fit. I have ordered the XXL.

I ordered a new Forest and an Amazon one and will compare and return the lesser product if not good.

How much did people pay for the new Forest gilet? I am sure it was similar price last night … £89 with the “Black Friday discount” apparently…

It will be interesting to see which you rate the best value for money.

This is the first one a bought, it is very similar to the New Forest gilet, the heat from the gilet was very good and comes with a 1200mAh battery, one thing to keep in mind is heat pads in the pocket area as when your hands start to get really cold you can warm them up in the pockets, as I said in an earlier post I found the micro fleece had a little bit of drag when swinging the gun...

Got this one so far, it definitely gets warm… imagine it would have been lovely last week when it was -10c in Scotland.

Not a huge fan of the fit and quality.

Waiting for the 2 NFC ones to arrive and compare.

The amazon heated socks I bought don’t even work as far as I can tell 🤣
