Lloyd90
Just got the goose in the oven, using my new Xmas present a Meater internal Bluetooth thermometer.  I am hoping for a perfectly cooked bird 🤣

Lloyd90
As the baby fell asleep on me, the wife had to cook it this year.  She did a blinding job. I think she can cook Xmas dinner next year as well!!

Look very nice Lloyd and I can see you have got the good lady well trained , an excellent Christmas dinner . Mine is being done in stages so if I did use one image it would be over two feet long
39TDS
This was our goose, we had it yesterday as that suited the offspring best. it was very good and just reheating leftovers for another go at it.  I cooked it along with the rest of the meal, stuffed ourselves so much we had no Christmas pud.

It looked good until the end but told us to take the goose out almost an hour before the cook time on the packaging, saying it was 70c ish.   I then used a cheap probe meat thermometer which showed around 60c.  Im not sure which one was off / more accurate. We did re place the meater probe and it showed the same.  Considering this was Xmas dinner we didn’t want to risk ruining the ruin so left it in for a while longer. When checked after it did come up above safe min temp.  Last time I cooked goose however for the time on the packet it was overdone… this time it was absolutely lovely… I’m not sure what it would of been like had I taken it out a lot earlier …  Will risk it on a few less big deal dinners
