20p on a pint next.

I expect it will be at least 20p more, about 5%. With all the business having to pay an extra £2,600 a year( 10%+) for every full time worker, and about 13% for part timers it’s got to affect prices of everything,I have heard brewers are making some beers weaker to reduce costs. The government will probably try to deny and hide the inflation figures coming after April but we will see the proof in what we buy!

Hello, If that is the case a lot more Pubs in the UK will cease trading, I had a thought 🤔 maybe it is another way with Labour wanting to build more Homes and not much land available how many of us have seen our local Pub turned in to Flats and Houses built on the the land ?? This also applies to our farming families and forth coming Inheritance tax, Many have said they will have to sell land to pay for this and Labour know there is a shortage of building land 🤔!!!!!!!!

Recently visited York and saw a pint of Guinness was £6.50 in a pub there! The big rise in national insurance will obviously cause prices of everything to rise, many in pubs are part time and the employer will have to find 13% more including the minimum wage increase of 77p an hour, even more for under 21 ‘s. Yes there could still be a beer tax rise too in next budget. £7 Guinness not far away!

The ingredients for that are up a lot too! Used to make a good 40 pints for a fiver, probably £25 now!

Rumours are out there that "Rachel from Accounts" will put 20p extra duty on beer in her next budget.

I hope it isn't true.

Most likely is, seemingly just the continuation of sinking the economy?

If that is a true fact then that would mean I have got to find another 20 p when I have my yearly pint of Shandy at the shoots dinner , if I can't afford it then I will have to cut down to a half instead of a pint , although come to think of it , they do give me a tenner tax free at Christmas so ignore the half pint as I will certainly now have a full pint and should nearly have enough left over for another half and a small packet of crisps , mind you if the beer keep going up and up then a tenner might not be enough for a pint so it's time our golden handshake start moving in a upward direction :good:
