His comments indicate the level of intellect and standard of behaviour Starmer considers for a suitable person to be a Minister of the Crown.

Err hardly, Starmer sacked him straight away...... unlike the previous lot who allowed sex offenders to stay in post.

Starmer chose him as minister.  This type of behaviour was a Gwynne habit - not something new - and Starmer turned a blind eye and only sacked him when the press got hold of it.

Other Labour 'seniors' had even been the subject of his texts including Starmer's deputy, Rayner.

And of course he is still an MP, although at the moment he is an "Independent" as the labour Party have suspended him.

I wonder if it will get to a voter recall situation?

how is he even allowed to function as an independant MP for that transgression...

Because until anyone of his constituents starts a recall motion and gets a certain percentage of the vote he will stay as an independent MP.

Not great, but that is the system I'm afraid.

Hello, Be careful what you say or have said in the past should be on any MPs entry into Parliament rules 🤔, What did he say that was so bad ? I am sure many of us at different times in life have spoken of a person who they felt deemed worthy of a few expletives but before the advent of social media,

He was stupid enough to say a complaining pensioner should die and was pretty awful about some of his Labour colleagues.

I find what he did much less offensive than the prime minister taking back handers of free glasses and free suits etc . That's just pure straightforward corruption.

Nothing more than you'd expect from two tier kier though .

People that wear free glasses , shouldn't throw stones.
