Think before you nominate, we have many members and many 'posters' :welcomeani: but think who you would nominate for as the PW contributor of the year - or even post of the year?

Without digging back through them, my nominees would include:

John Galway: Not just dead stuff pictures, good informative write ups to go with them

Madcowz: The ferret court construction pictures and write up

Sandersj89: View from the farmers side, another great post

Holland & Holland: Boar shoot write ups

There isn't a prize, other than to recognise the contribution these members make, so add to the list with your favoutites . .

I would nominate StuartP for his valiant effort at trying to add some purpose and decorum to the forum and for being a spiffing fellow and sending me the DSC disks.

If only there was an award for name dropping Calamity Jane eh?

'DSC' Is that the 'Dumb Shooter Certificate' or 'Dumb Suffolk Certificate'

Those two have to be in the running, for the reasons above.

I'd also like some recognition of posters like 'cartridge' 'call of duty' 'justjoshing' et al for just being dribbling mongs of a superb variety.

I've seen a good deal of great contributions to this forum by postings or otherwise. But I think its only fair that we recognise Dunganick for his concept and efforts in organsing what has become an annual event, namely PW@Bisley.

Well done Nick, I very much look forward to the next one. :good:

I've had a think. For me there hasn't been a thread this year to rival the bear hunting one last year. So, I'm going for general helpfulness and I vote for NTTF. Honourable mention goes to LB as I always seem to be agreeing with him (which has me quite worried :good:).

That said there are a truck load of others here who deserve praise also :whistling:

Kinda worried I got mentioned twice :good:......

Sandersj89: View from the farmers side

I really enjoyed reading this post. It was really informative of what goes on whilst including a bit of family life at the same time. Reading it was almost like living the experience, it was very well written.

A mention must also go to Dunganick. I missed Bisley because I was so busy with other (boring) things that couldn't be got out of, but am hoping to make it next year if something similar happens.

There are many members that make an outstanding effort on here, some jokers and some very knowledgable. Keep up the good work :whistling:

I'm voting for Sandersj89 - I really enjoy reading about his day-to-day life on the farm. I'm from farming myself and I work in farm management now, and Jerry continues to portray an amusing, intelligent and accurate picture of the work involved.

Jerry, Farmers' Weekly is looking for a new batch of contributors. I'm sure your journalistic/literary talent would be well-placed in FW, although you're unlikely to have the time to spare. You'd certainly get a good audience on FarmingForum.

Very kind of you to say so......but one member of the familly in the farming press is enough, though he does not write for the FW any longer, most recent article was in the Daily Telegraph. You will probably know his name if I mentioned it though!

As for my thoughts on contribution to the community here I have been thinking and find it incredibly hard as there are so many good posters here with a huge depth of knowledge that has helped me no end.

John Galway has to get a mention, well worth reading for tips.

I have enjoyed Suffolk Shooters tales from his shoot, I know how much hard work goes into that as I have done the same.

NTTF for the insight to "hunting" over the pond, very jealous in many ways.

The mod team, a thankless task at the best of times but they do do a good job and keep the flow of information going and keep the forums on track.

And I am going to have to try and go to the PW Bisley trip in 2008.....sounds a blast (no pun intended)
