Thanks chaps, the snipe were only about 15 feet away and didn't mind when I opened the window and got the camera out.

View from the back is nice too

The loch is full of brown trout but it's fly only - and I am hopeless with a fly rod

I wish i had that view from my kitchen window :good:

I love the western isles,go there every year in my boat, but can never get the time to get that far north.

I suppose the water is crystal clear up there, nice for a spot of diving?

I don't know much about diving meself, but the water is very clear and there's loads of wrecks.

Crieffy, all the way up there mate, what do you do for a living?

As little as possible! I work at the airport - 10 minutes from the house and shifts are pretty cushy.

What camera is that your using? Images are crystal clear.

They were taken with a Nikon D80 and Sigma 50-500 lens. I had to edit them a bit as they were taken through glass and were quite washed out.

Cheers,

John

You are right about them knowing the season is over. I had 300 - 400 on one of my permissions yesterday. Hardly saw any when they were in season.

The good news is that summer must be coming as I saw two massive skeins going north on Friday evening.

"Have a nice holiday, Geese and we will see you in the Autumn".
