Aled_cky
i'm guessing you shoved the dog down the hole and waited above with a spade? looks abit muddy, and once again the famous blue face. Aled
vimm
I doubt from your posting Aledcacky that you have ever witnesed such a true worker in action?? But yes i waited above with SHOVEL and things did get a little muddy
Cranfield
I had a friend who bred some of the best working Lakelands in the country. Many, many pleasurable hours were spent watching those dogs work. They was some of the best sporting moments of my life.
Elma Fud
Well Done... It looks as though you've been well rewarded for your days outing. I've only been out digging once or twice, but I've enjoyed every second of it. :( EF

Teal
Efficient is the one word which I think everyone should use when talking about this form of Fox control.

dodeer
Work a patterdale myself, she is just starting to show interest in going to ground. I often help the hunt terrierman out. A friend also has a working lakeland, we put that to ground and shoot when charlie bolts.

henry d
Excellent work mate, you haven`t offended me.I`d like to own a terrier and a long dog for the foxes but I`ve 2 spaniels and I`m thinking about a retriever and in an ex-council 2 bed terraced house someone would have to go!!!! Probably me if she could read minds :(
ollie
Nice work Vimm. my dad has a collection of 5 terriers; an old lakeland bitch, a jack russel and 3 pups out of the 2. The pups are showing great potential. The 2 older dogs bolt foxes every time and the only time we have to use the spade is during the spring an odd time. ollie
The pic needs resized. Well as long as the dog is finding the fox in the first season the quick bolts will come. Our ole bitch is very experienced and it's only in the past 4 or 5 years that the quick bolts have been coming.
pigeon master
Hello all, Dont get me wrong, I'm not shocked by the pictures and having a good working terrier is a joy to own but I think the last picture with the dog round the foxes neck is fuel for the antis. But thats just my point of view, it shows little respect for our prey, and yes we know they are vermin but we should show them a little respect after all we have just taken their life. Bets that raised a few eyebrows. The PM
ollie
I think it's fine, after all it's not illegal. It would be a different story if the fox was still alive. Also it gives the dog a bit of confidence and reward for it's hard work. We always let our pups have a pull at the dead fox so they gain a bit of confidence. jordan
i see no problem with it the fox is dead after all theres nothing wrong with letting the dogs have a rag if were going to get like that surely its disrespectful to line up all the pigeons etc for a photo
digga
digging to fox is another great sport, i love the pics, i think vimm and a few other members know you can see a lot more graphic pics on other hunting forums ,keep the pics coming everyone
Vermin Dropper
Not offended at all and good to see the more "hushed up" sports bought more to light, As a matter of interest (excuse my ignorance in this field) does the terrier ever have to tackle the fox or is it always bolted or dispatched by you in the stop end? cheers,
