Tam
I know this is shooting related photos , but seeing the amount of fishing related photos shown i thaught i would post a pic of er indoors with a Scottish Flounder !!!! A 140lb male skate caught last Aug, tagged and released to fight another day (ps. this is a good size for a male fish) I caught & released a 103ib fish hooked at the same time. 2003 I had a 180 Female & Lynelle a 150lb female. All untagged (now tagged) & released. Tackle used 50lb class. Tam. PS, hope this works after all the **** taking last night, but its all part of the craic

Big Angus
Nice one Tam. How long did it take to bring to the surface and then land.
Cranfield
Thats a very nice "Common" Skate (I always think they are wrongly named, as they are not that common). A friend and I have fished Clew Bay in Ireland for the last 18 years and last July he caught a 198lb female Skate. We only allocate one day to Skate fishing, the other four days we reef fish. Tam
Hi Big Angus, About 40 minutes, quick measure, tag, & photo then returned to the deep (340 ft) its a bit of a struggle on a 16 3/4' boat with just two of us We had both fish on at the same time but luckily one waited patiently once the hook was set, we would have been up **** creek if it started to run Tam. Lord Geordie
Nice Fish bud!! A man after my own heart. I throw all my fish back now to tell the truth and to see a Skate taken for eating makes me sad as you can only eat the wings and the rest is wasted. So much waste Besides the way I see it is IF i make sure i return them to the water there is a better chance of me catching next time. Thats the theory anyway LG
