SA1Gunner
Alex, If I had an air rifle I no longer used or one that needed refurbishing, I would give it to you, just for your cheek lol. If you ask enough kind hearted people somebody will say yes, you could offer your services to wash peoples windows or cars in your neighborhood or at local supermarkets, offer to cut peoples grass, you could always go to your local gun shop and ask the owner has he got an old rifle, to start you off nothing to fancy, tell him, you are prepared to work in the shop for as long as it takes to own that rifle, you never know fella, If you came to my shop and I liked the way you conducted yourself and you weren't dressed like bad un and spoke well, I would find you an air rifle, but I wouldn't let you have it until you did the agreed no of days. You could always put an ad in the local free ads paper, carefully word it and you never know. Can I ask an honest question, which you can reply via PM if you wish, Is there a reason why you or your family can't afford to all chip in for a birthday or Christmas pressie for you. Don't let anyone tell you, you can't do or have something, work hard and smart, if there is an obstacle in your way, find a way to go through it, around it, over it or under it. Good luck. MM
OH so now he wants free cuts of slack does he,well he can just bloody well earn those bits of slack like the rest of us did. When i was a lad i used to walk 40 mile to work and back again just to save up enough money to buy a bit of slack.  fantastic. now young man, why not listen to some of the advice being given FOR FREE Spend a bit of time on the forum getting to know some of the folk in your area. When you have a few more post under your belt, and have earned the right to ask for something for free, then you might get a better reply. Try getting a paper round, or wait for birthdays/christmas ect. There is bound to be sombody on here living close to you that needs a hand, like its been said, washing cars, walking dogs, mowing grass......ect..........ect... Andy W
Thread has had many posts removed, please do not post unless you have something positive to say.Why was my post removed, I had something constructive to say in the way to make people aware of giving as a gift a weapon to someone who for all we know whose parents dont wish him to have one, he's 15 for god sake, would his parents thank you if they thought he wasnt trust worthy to own a gun and that is why they wont buy him one? SA1Gunner
Brandall, Is spot on, nothing wrong in asking for help and getting some positive feedback and very kind offers but then to act like a football hooligan is not on. Alex, I think you need to apologise for your thuggish outburst. People were prepared to cut you some slack and if you can't see that, you have a problem. evilstoat
I remember another request very similar to this on another popular countryside sports forum...the guy got flamed bigtime, but hung in there, when he made some sensible posts i think one of the older members took pitty on him and offered him a meteor, only to discover through somebodies sharp interest in previous posts that he had quite a nice collection of air rifles, some worth a bit too. not saying Mr.Edwards is going to be the same, but slight problem if his parents either don't want him to have one...or do not know he is making such a request... 14 - 17 years of age You cannot buy or hire an air rifle, or ammunition, or receive one as a gift. Your air rifle and ammunition must be bought and looked after by someone over 18 – normally your parent, guardian or some other responsible adult. have an air rifle in a public place unless you are supervised by somebody aged 21 or over, and you have a reasonable excuse to do so (for example, while on the way to a shooting ground). I'm sure everybody is aware of this but thought i would qoute this for Mr.Edwards ...if anybody is feeling charitable Cheers ES Edited January 20, 2009 by evilstoat
dustyfox
Why dont you find someone that goes hunting target shooting with air rifles, instead of getting one, you can learn of the other guy and the responsibility of owning a gun. fuzrat
To give the young man the benifit of the doubt, Alex why dont you try giving these guys a call reasonably local to you http://www.byleyftc.co.uk/index.html Or google this "Tilleys Tackle & Airgun Centre" they are in crewe or Garrington Firearms in chester. have a word they will know of any target or field target clubs in your area. most clubs welcome new members especially youngsters and usually have loads of club guns for you to be instructed with.
