as an ex roadie ,,had to get a proper job cannot be happy all your life.. queen --ga ga tour ,maine rd manchester--- funniest beasty boys -liverpool ,that was a riot

Beastie Boys? Was that the same tour where the promoter took everyone's water pistols off them at the Birmingham gig following a complaint from some little old lady that there were people walking around with machine guns?

I've done a bit of on tour catering so have seen quite a few bands. (Did some work with the Welsh boys, High Life, many, many years ago, and a little bit of work for Sugar & Spice more recently)

Best gigs I've seen - someone else has mentioned OMD, who probably a bit surprisingly, are one of the most amazing live bands ever. Muse were pretty good, as were Good Charlotte (who win the award for nicest band ever), and I caught a little bit of the Progidy the other day and they were pretty good too. Prince is also amazing live.

Saw The Specials a couple of years ago at The Welly Club in Hull... Excellent. Really intimate, great atmosphere... much better than some of the big name bands stadium gigs I've been to.

There's a local Ska/Punk band called Counting Coins who have recently started playing around town, only formed a couple of months ago, been to a couple of their gigs recently and can say that they're definitely the best local band by far.

and I saw erm... Girls Aloud last month in Sheffield - quality entertainment!! I was about a meter away from the stage, and screaming like a loser. I love them though.

Have seen quite a few bands over the years, the best i've watched personally is "the Killers", would have loved to have seen Rory Gallagher live, but unfortunetley that will never happen!!!

Also should add that "The Hot house Flowers" were good too, and Paul Weller was great both times i went to see him, my biggest disappointment was Ian Brown from the stone roses, he sounded live like he was gargelling broken bottles!!!
