Windy
That's the worst fella. Know just how you feel, had to put my previous springer to sleep 4yrs ago. Wasnt too long before springer No.4 arrived, place just wasnt the same without one, but thats a bridge you have to cross in your own good time. Stamford
Always makes me sad when people post about their dogs being put to sleep, I'm not a dog owner but maybe one day... I'd love a Springer but the thought of going through what you are now would rip me apart ! RIP Jack
henry d
Sorry to hear about your loss, I am awaiting the day my old girl, now 15, passes away. Most days I have to check she is breathing as she is too deaf to hear anything when more than 10 feet away. The pain is still sharp, but try to remember the good memories

darren m
thanks lad for the kind words much appreciated His injury was his right leg , happened end of last year , we saw several vets and paid for a specialist , but none could find the cause. he had it bandaged , splintered several times the specialist told us he though it was possibily a tumour in the nerve sheath or nerve damage , any way we plodded on hoping he might recover ( as nerve injuries sometimes do ). he would have his short 3 legged walks around the paddocks which he loved and loved his food and wagged his tail when ever he saw me , he was happy and would still be there at the door waiting to go shooting when ever i had been in the gun cabinet . but unfortunatley this last week he looked plain fed up and went off his food , then he started to go and lay down on his own in the other room away from the rest of the family and dogs , i,m sure his leg was starting to play up again and i could just tell it was time
