njc110381
Firstly, why buy a HMR if you have a .223? Just blat it with that! I also back Bivvy and Magman. I have hardly used my HMR since I got my hornet (after listening to bivvy go on for hours about how his was great).

The Burpster
I do indeed :o I've got a Sako Quad, so all I do is take out the .22lr barrel, bring it and my .22lr magazine to my dealer and swap them for a shiny new HMR barrel and magazine. Stick in the barrel and Bob's your uncle If I get the licence, I'll miss the quietness of the .22lr, a definite advantage but I won't for a second miss the ricochets. Urrrm why dont you keep the .22lr AND have the .17 HMR. My mate loves this set up .....!
Lloyd90
Urrrm why dont you keep the .22lr AND have the .17 HMR. My mate loves this set up .....! Yeh Id keep the 22lr aswell mate I will shoot rabbits with the HMR but do miss casual plinking with the 22lr as it was just so much cheaper :o 17HMR for hunting, 22lr for plinking Think I might have to put in a variation in a couple weeks n pick one up

AndyCM
I look forward to the photo of the first pile of corvids have fun John, my .17 took 100 odd rounds before it (& I ?) settled down. My first live shot was a 140 yards crow, nice. Cheers AndyCM
Dave-G
There'll be no regrets John. 16" barrel is real car friendly.
al4x
yep you'll love it, for corvids its perfect as you can shoot them to 150 yards easily and they're not that noisy certainly not compared to your un moderated .223 the vmax rounds love the blackies and kill so much better than the .22lr and as you say you'll use it in areas where you wouldn't even think about using a .22lr simply due to the round bouncing issue
