Baldrick
Are we talking day-to-day shooting on local land, or more adventurous forays at home and abroad?
MPT1
I don't have a fantastic choice unlike many of you. I use my 100TK and carry an old Webley Tempest for nutting off the non dead before picking up. These do very well for rabbits, ferals, woodies and squirrels. I'd be glad to visit any of your permissions to demonstrate.

Kron
After buying my miroku mk70 I haven't really got much choice. I could borrow a browning 525 but I don't really think the extra engraving would make that much difference

Newsportshooter
Zeroed the 7mm 08 today - 5 minutes after sliding 50 metres down a rather steep incline in the trooper...... Anyway what a weapon - with the mod on it it's got the same recoil as a 223 (ie yours nick), a little louder but not much and packs a hell of a lot more punch. Dont know why people go for the .243 - the 7 08 is far superior. As for the trooper - after two attempts at the hill I let the tires down (almost flat) and gave it full right foot - couldnt believe it when I made the top of the hill (I'll post pictures when I get a second....) Nick - well done with the munty (I'm going out for some venison soon....) Goat this weekend though.... njc110381
Depends on the quarry and also what chance there is of seeing something not on the job plan. For Rabbits I sometimes take the .17 HMR, but usually the .22 Hornet. Since the Hornet turned up I just don't shoot the HMR any more. It deals with most things as long as I don't want the meat! I'll take it out for Fox too if I know I can get close. When I'm Foxing on safe ground I take the 6.5x55. That way I'm Deer legal if I need to be. I'll also bunny bash with it now and again just to keep my eye in and shoot Crows and Magpies on the ground if I see them! That's my gun of choice for Deer too, it's a really nice rifle to shoot. When I went to Canada I took the .375H&H. What a gun that was! Took a Deer with it without making too much mess. Even potted at a Squirrel with it! That's gone now and I've replaced it with a .300 Win Mag. A little on the small side but it will do. When it's set up I'll bunny bash and Fox with that too! Regular Squirrel shooting here is done with the shotty. Garden plinking is the air rifles place. I recently picked a scruffy old Webley Vulcan up off of Nickbeardo for bargain money and I'm well pleased with it. After some time away from the air rifle scene I've only recently remembered how fun they are (the boom of the big kit made them less appealing until the novelty faded away).
