Harnser
i think another great column to compliment the for sale section would be a 'reason for sale - creative writing section '; you know, such as 'never missed a beat, only selling as i prefer an o/u, or .. i shoot in long grass and dont want to look for cartridges, or.. it doesnt match the curtains in the living room... ( all usually start with ... only 3/4/5 weeks old!) Boy ,you aint half made it hard to sell one on this forum now . Harnser .

Jim Sarakun
I think Jims post ,Hatson escort owners club ,should be read again by some members . The post is very tongue in cheek and should not be taken to seriously . Tongue in cheek posts are wide open for banter ,thats what we call british humour , sometimes not understood outside these shores . Any how ,who would buy a hatson escort and then let other people know they had one by joining a club . Harnser . Tongue in cheek to test the water Harnser. Should there be enough interest then why not a page for Datsun owners. It would be a first on this site so ground breaking stuff. There appears to be plenty of owners out there and the banter is superb, the Datsun being probably the most talked about gun on here, and I am sure you will have to admit that you have had a chuckle or two with your contributions, as I have had reading them. I think you may even buy one. Or are you expecting to find a free one in your next box of Turkish Delight or in that Kebab? Letting other people know you have one and joining a club is a normal thing, there are all types of clubs around the world for people who share a common interest, why not one for the Datsun? Good 'ole British humor not understood outside these shores. I agree with you on that one, but hasten to ask, was that not what started the British Empire? I'm sure that when Liz asked Francis to pop out in his boat and bring her the world, that he must have thought she was having a laugh. He did it though. starlight32
So I work it out now-Do you notice everyone who owns an Escort always starts off with the saying; 'I could buy 10 Beretta's but dont want to knock one about' or I don't want to drag my grandad's gun through a hedge' Reminds me when I bought my first Porsche.....'All I ever heard is I could buy one of them but don't want to get it scratched' Well I'm still dragging my grandads gun through hedge and mud on the foreshore-To be honest I don't think he would want anything else. Go on boys you know you want to...Liberate a Beretta or Browning off the shelf and stop window shopping.... Harnser,Baldrick-Coffee at mine Monday morning-Kopi Lewak or Puerto rico Yauco? We can all chat about these peasant hatsan owners that seem to be in abundance in our society at the moment. But hell, atleast I'll be able to pop along to Starlights for a coffee... might want to put me a chair and table outside though buddy? as the smell might stink the house out Edited August 20, 2009 by ShropshireJohn
MadMatt1979
So, let me get this straight, your out on the foreshore and you are SERIOUSLY considering taking a fairly valuable gun out there to get it covered in mud, water, grit, etc??? Come one lads, get a grip! Would you take a Ferrari on an off roading course? I very much doubt it! Its a matter of tools for the job, and in the case of fowling or rough shooting, why buy a decent gun just to trash it? I know a guy whos got an 8 bore Tolley. Does he take it on the foreshore? Does he BO£$%*S! If this were a side-by-side bashing thread would you all be advocating taking your finest Purdey out there with you? Some how, I don`t think so! Baldrick
Actually it's "kopi Luwak".... That's irrelevant - you're not getting any pretentious coffee from Starlight, unless you denounce all Escort owners as peasants/heretics. My weekly diary always has time set aside to rant about peasants. That's a coffee on the keyboard quote if ever I read one. I have handled a hatstand in a gunshop once, I came out in a rash. One does when one handles inferior equipment, or wears clothes from George at Asda.

Some how, I don`t think so! i think the thing with semi autos is there is a lot more to go wrong than a sbs or ou, and so (IMHO) the quality of the engineering is critical, i looked long and hard at a hatsan when buying a semi auto, but ended up getting a second hand beretta 303 (which i love) for a couple of hundred more than i would have paid for the hatsan, just because i did want to take it for granted and not worry about it not working, i am generally not a 'brand snob' - my sbs and ou are both cheap budget guns, but the standard of engineering is not as critical as with a s/a. happy days
