al4x
were they white gloves? thats the true essex clay shooter trademark
MC
It most certainly isn't an Essex Thing, I don't know of anybody in Essex who wears gloves when shooting. I certainly don't, I cannot shoot wearing gloves. And I know some would say I cannot shoot anyway.

libs
I can understand when its bloody cold, or your pipes get bloody hot (in the case of a sxs with splinter forend) but I really can't see any other reason.
Fatcatsplat
poor personal hygiene!! I agree with MC - I have tried loads of different pairs on for shooting in the winter, but they just don't feel right, especially when reloading. alexr
Ive used gloves in winter, but as fatcatsplat says they feel wrong when reloading . tend to end up with only the left glove on after a couple of shots. tried it once in the rain too. Perhapse got a tad more grip, but not much.

Marley29
I have a pair of shooting gloves which I wear for clays. I used to cut my thumb on my right hand every time I used the gun however this has now stopped! They are very thin leather with neoprene on the outside. They work a treat. Oh, I'm also from Essex

jonnyoftheboy
as a glove wearer..... or "tart" as many would call it...! I wear them for 2 reasons: 1. i started shooting late last summer, got used to shooting without gloves..... came to winter, was bloody freezing, wore gloves, & couldn't get used to wearing them whilst shooting for ages. Now I am used to shooting in them, didn't want to go back to shooting without, tried it at the start of this summer.... & it didn't feel right now I was used to the gloves! 2. being a office based pen pusher who has never done a hard days manual work in my life, I found the checkering on the forend chaffes my hands something rotten. paulos
I wear a glove on my left hand occasionally during the winter as I injured it a couple of year ago and it aches something chronic when it's cold Can't get away with wearing a glove on my "trigger hand" anyway.
