Right, here's yet another problem that I hope you chaps can help out with. I've got my daughter a s/b 410 to shoot with, on the basis that she very kindly buttons for me on the clays and at the end she gets to have a go herself (normally give her 10 shots on whatever the easiest target of the day was). The stock is about 5 inches too long for her and so, i need to shorten it - The problem is that she is going to grow and i want the gun to be able to grow with her. I've thought about taking the 5 inches off in 1 inch "biscuits" so that i can reattach them as and when the time comes, but that seems a bit fiddly and may comromise the integrity of the gun - Has anyone got a good idea of a setup that will mean i can take off the full amount and then make it so that i can adjust the gun as and when necessary? I'm thinking along the lines of a couple of threaded rods going from the butt into the stock to keep it steady, with a fixed screw attachment in the middle that will be the adjusting point taking the length of the stock in and out. Technically, I am as thick as two short planks, so wondered if any of you out there had any bright ideas? Thanks in advance, Matt

I've tried lots in the last couple of years - The big headphone jobbies tend to screw up my mount and the electronic ones just sound very strange. If you want the disposable plastic ones (not the foam type), I get them from screwfix and stick packets of them in my car, cabinet, gunslips etc so they are always to hand - They seem to work very well. Also, I'm guaranteed to lose them at some point, but you really don't mind so much when they cost 10p each.

When i had some lessons last year, i was told specifically not to look at the gun (I am right handed and left eye dominant, so close my left eye) and focus purely on the target bird. Seems to work for me, so don't understand how having a bead on the end of the gun helps out, as that surely focuses your eye on the gun. Anybody clever out there able to enlighten me??

Probably tempting fate here, but have nothing but good to say about them. When i was driving around in old bangers, they came out quite frequently to help me get home (Got a letter one year advising me that one more callout and my membership was cancelled !!) and could not have asked for better service.

I got bullied for a couple of years in secondary school by one particular kid - By the 3rd year i had got very bored with it and whacked him in the face in the school gym - Bust his nose and lip - He was a "big hard man" so couldn't tell a teacher. Result was i didn't get into trouble, the bullying stopped and my kudos went up by about 50% immediately. May or may not work for Sweepy, but hope the problems gets resolved.
