Would it work on a nice bottle of Chablis - Be lovely in the summer for an impromptu picnic
  2. I think it's a bit like anything in life really - You go through peaks and troughs. I'm like it with work and hobbies - Anything with an air of repetition. When everything is bleak and horrible, something happens and it all looks rosy again. And if it doesn't, flog us yer guns for a fiver
  3. Magpies move in and songbirds move out
  4. There was a thread on here earlier with something similar happening on rabbits
  5. Cheers Gordon - And no techno speak either!
  6. Blimey, my missus must be right - I can't judge measurement. It can't be 12 inches then!!!!
  7. Pop down to the Robin Hood Pub at Bluebell Hill - Shoot every other week or so on a Sunday - Nice 70 sporting with good people. Dates are 27/7, 10/8, 24/8, 14/9, 28/9, 12/10, 26/10, 2/11, 23/11, 14/12 and 26/12 (with a hangover) Not sure what time they start, but last shot must be fired by midday
  8. You appear to have unfeasibly long barrels there sir! I've got a cheap and cheerful little side by side that really takes my averages down, but it is so much fun to shoot - Enjoy.
  9. Just watch out for handling fees - No good getting a better rate and then watching it sail away as an administration fee
  10. Looks like he may have winged a couple :o Reduced: 80% of original size [ 640 x 484 ] - Click to view full image
  11. Just got meself a Browning GTi (soft top with go-fast stripes) and the chokes that came with it are all for skeet - Looking to get a set of 1/4 and 1/2's, but must admit to being a bit of a numpty when anything gets technical - What's the advantages/disadvantages of the chokes being flush fitting, ported or extended? Shoot mostly sporting clays (actually shoot mostly sky.....lots and lots of sky), with a wee bit of rough shooting when i can get it. Any advice/comments appreciated.
  12. Don't remember a guitar being flung, but they did a gig years ago in the docks at Liverpool, backed up by a symphony orchestra - From memory, they played "Eloise". Vanian was in full long flowing hair and fluffy sleeves mode - Must have been late 80's early 90's. Cracking and very underrated band IMO
  13. Post Office or big Marks and Spencers. If there is a bunch of you going, ask if the post office do bulk discount - Went to the States last year and got a far beter deal when i increased my spend
  14. i had one **** on me on the way to work today....How lucky do i feel!!
  15. i changed jobs last year and contractually had to sit out for 3 months at home (albeit on full pay) - Dragged like a legless elephant!! Knew i had to go back to work when i was setting my day up around daytime TV shows (I now have a wealth of useless knowledge on car booties and antiques). It's also very difficult to occupy your whole day when all your mates are at work. What i am trying to say, in a roundabout way, is that sitting at home doing ****** all is dull, boring cack! Given the choice, i'd rather flip burgers for minimum wage
  16. Not a bad day out but why are there so many German re-enactors - Didn't they come second? Must be the uniform!!
  17. Looks like you're having a mega yard sale!! Where are you based?
  18. I've got the meat book - It's kinda like a bio, but with recipes, a little butchery and food preparation. It's a good read, but there are better books out there. The drawback is it is trying to be a complete compendium, but you're only getting half a story.

    kent show

This is the one with cows and farming type stuff and no guns innit??
  20. Myzeneye - DON'T shoot without a choke in - It'll ****** your barrel and the thread for the chokes - I have a lanber too and agree that the choke markings don't make much sense - Stick your little finger in em (bottom end) and then match em up in order of size - Cylinder will be the fattest, going up to improved cylinder, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and full choke will be the tightest (They may have notches on the top which can help you out). To be honest, i have faffed about with them all over the place and have settled on 1/4 and 1/2, just because that seems to be the norm - Can't say that they have really had much noticable impact on my shooting.
