  4. One part of my brain is telling me to prepare for the end of the world as we know it , but , another part of my brain is telling me that I got prepared for the end of the world as we know it , when covid reared its ugly head , and that covid just turned into a great big pile of xxxx all , that wasted my , time , money, and , effort .
  5. Free beer and hotel rooms . It would just end up with an unwanted pregnancy , and a lot of red faces 🙃.
  6. Interesting choice of cartridges though dave 🤔
  7. That food looks delicious 👍.
  8. We've got the log burner and open fire , and enough logs for two winters if we're careful. We have a 7 litre kettle that'll live on top of the log burner, so that we have plenty of hot water , and a cast iron cooking pot . We have a solar panel and a very large battery , to charge phones , lights etc , We have two inverters if needed, that would run lins workshop(she has her diesel night heater in there) , we have portable usb rechargeable lights , and a usb rechargeable shower . I have an old fashioned cast iron iron ( shed be chuffed about using that )😄 , we have a Kelly kettle , and several camping cookers , and we have enough stored food to get us through a couple of months if things got really bad. By far the biggest weapon in the armoury , is that we have no fear of a little bit of hardship. We're completely sorted , and are in a position to be able to help family , if help is needed. My main concern at the moment, is that asda have run out of cheap toilet roll , and from tomorrow morning, I will have to use the horrible soft quilted stuff. Edited to add. As most of us on here are pretty outdoorsy, and old enough , and wise enough , to figure out basic survival. I wouldn't imagine that the odd powercut, and hefty gas bill , will bother us too much 👍.
  9. The law of averages says that he had to get something right in the end 😁.
  10. That's some fantastic going . Absolutely top marks sir 👍👍👍.
  11. Cheers for the spotter nath . Had a look through it this afternoon, and the quality is fantastic mate 👌.
  12. Yep , it has no place anywhere , and it's what's turning our country into an island full of wetters . The thought that someone like that can find their way into a responsible position in the military, fills me with dread and sadness.
  13. It was probably because things suddenly got very real , and his bottle went.
  14. That's pretty typical of just about everything in the UK dave . It starts in school, and goes from there.
  15. We've got a large crop of hazelnuts this year Steve, so we'll get some picked for you mate . We couldn't see any acorns again , but we'll have a good mooch about for you 👍.
  16. How did someone like that pass training dave ?. You would like to think that he'd be stopped , before he was in a position to make things very dangerous, for himself, and those around him.
  17. Life doesn't get much better than that 👍.
  18. It wasn't the 70s , it was two weeks ago 😁.
  19. I dip their heads in copper slip. I can neither confirm, nor deny , that I have a royal warrant, and a royal coat of arms on the side of my horse and cart. That is now my final word on the whole sordid affair .🤫
  20. But what about the smell ?.
  21. 😄😄😄😄😄 You just had to set him off didn't you 😄😄😄 A gerbil is just a long tailed hamster , that's easier to retrieve 😄.
  22. They were ferrets . Due to , brexit , covid , Ukraine, nhs failures , and a flat tyre on my pushbike , I couldn't get your usual reubenesque hamsters . Things aren't looking so great this month either , but I should be able to get my hands on a few hedgehogs for you .
