I was disappointed too. I feel that we have reached over kill on fishing programmes. It seems that anyone, irrespective of skill or knowledge can present a programme about fishing. I like John Bailey but it felt like 'same old, same old'

What happened to the ' wrestling with with my conceince' post from friday?

It shows that you have feelings and do not randomly kill things for the sake of it. I have always found it hard to rationalise how anyone can take pleasure from killing something. I shoot pigeons and kill trout but don't particulaly enjoy the killing part, so why do i do it ?

Is it me? I've been interviewing for staff to work as kitchen or domestic assistants. 30 hours per week, minimum wage to begin with and 6 weeks annual leave. I,ve had 3 people decline the position(although not offered yet), as,if they were to take employment with over 16 hours a week they will be out of pocket because their benfits will either cease or be reduced. One even worked out they will loose just under £400 of what ever benefit entitlement they recieve per month. Unbelievable, what ever happened to work ethic or pride. They may not be the best paid positions but will lead to bigger and better opportunities next year. Moan over....

I feel i must congratulate ME for lighting the touchpaper for this post. Bullseye. Whether she was right or wrong is open to debate and always will be. For me her legacy is one of destroyed communities and social injustice.

Give over, the right of access should be free to all. Why should the 'select few' control who goes where.

Yes, it's for splittitting wood, i finally gave in and got the log burner installed. I need to sharpen my small axe so i can make the kindling. Cheers

What is the best way to sharpen an axe. Tried the stone and oil method with little success. Is there anything simple that i could try or am i just doing it wrong. Advice would be greatly appreciated

AVB, i think you need therapy. I suspect that nasty infection you got a couple of years ago has affected you badly.

Good luck with what ever method you use to stop. It's now over two years since i stopped, the cravings are still there sometimes but the benefits to my health since quitting have been unbelievable. I didn't realise the effect that smoking had had on me until i met my new woman. Improved circulation(no need for the viagra any more), if you know what i mean

Love the stuff. Hot crusty bread, real butter and marmite. Never knew that twiglets contained marmite though, foul things

Real one everytime. Can't beat that smell of the real thing. Having a real tree is one of the few things that reminds me of how Christmas used to be before it became the commerial institution that it is now. Ba, humbug and all that!!

As previous posters have commented, speak to your own GP first. He/She will be the one who knows you medically and can offer proper opinion as to how taking aspirin will benefit you or not. As you can see from previous posts opinions differ even within medical circles. However i know of several GP's/Doctors who regularly take aspirin themselves as preventative/precautionary measure

Try PETA, mind though, you will probably have to leave the country if you did discuss this matter with them

The gf works for the police, burglaries up 70% at the moment. Not just for the valuables and guns either, quite a few burglaries have been just for the dogs, especially trained labs and spaniels. Take care, get your security upgraded now

Does the law protect burglary victims who fight back?

you should be allowed to defend your family and property but killing is slightly excessive -

How can your company develop your career if they do not feedback to you following assessments? Be polite, ask to see them again, if they refuse then request for an explanation. I feedback to all my staff after every assessment, it,s good practice and good for morale.

Nice one

Simple, but looks so good. I'll have a bash at this one -
Children will probably swear more than us oldies anyway. I had a forteen year old describing what spooning was the only day. We live and learn. But i accept we should attempt to keep things clean
