  1. I'm with you Gordon, its going to rain this afternoon, I suppose they will blame him for that too
  2. I cant think of a single negative to be honest, except that the EU will put every effort it can into screwing us. If anybody was in any doubt about brexit the way the EU has conducted itself in the negotiations should have said it all.
  3. A friend of ours son got a job working at a big post office depot at Greenford Middx while he was waiting to go into the RAF about ten years back. It was pretty shocking what was going on by all accounts. Virtually all the staff were temps like him on minimum wage. It was like an Aladdins cave for thieves.
  4. If fish comes down in price people will buy more. Its dearer than steak at the moment. At one time fish was poor people's food.
  5. Me, I would take the view that you can do anything till somebody tells you otherwise.
  6. The market for fish in the UK contracted because so little fish was being landed once we joined the EU. Will it regenerate after we leave? who knows?
  7. Yes it is all to do with different laws in different states regarding the use of muzzle loaders for hunting deer and ducks. Some States allowed an ordinary 12ga with a removable adaptor and some States didn't so it had to be permanent. H&R made both types I believe You could years ago buy several different makes and types of adaptors. The only people I know making them now are Short Lane https://www.gunadapters.com/209-muzzle-loading-adapters/
  8. I have told this story several times before on here When Scotland had its last referendum for independence a man in a kilt turned up un my aunt's doorstep in Langholm. He was from the SNP. He told her that after independence Scotland would have so much money from the oil and gas they would be able to double her pension. She believed him and she voted for independence. Till the day she died she still believed it. Looking back now, I think the man from the SNP must have believed it too, at the time anyway. Looking across the Atlantic to the American elections I can see similar misinformation being bandied about to win votes
  9. They did, that to me looks like an ordinary 12ga single barrel shotgun with one of the adaptors fitted.
  10. You have to cast very hard bullets if you are going to load full .357 loads
  11. I used S&B for a few years, never had a problem with them either. Where do you get yours from?
  12. But it works the other way too, a lot of people are put off what people like Boris, Matt Hancock, Michael Gove etc are saying because they have posh public school accents.
  13. At the time of the Profumo scandal some French commentator said. In England a politician has to resign because the press found out he had a mistress In France he would have to resign if the press found out he hadn't
  14. Well I made the original comment and I'm not the least offended at having it deflected back at me. I took it for what it was, a lampoon. Thick is thick where ever you find it. But my comment was based on a much longer held belief, People in the South do believe Northerners are thick, I can't change it I was brought up with it, my mum's family came from Gateshead. A northern accent can still be a disadvantage to say getting certain jobs. The TV presenter Steph McGovern went public on Northernism in the BBC. Now this is not thick, this is deliberate and criminal, and its in West London https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-54564448 and I am given to believe its been happening regularly. Southall is a "complex" area, I will leave it at that.
  15. Just about the biggest supplier of QUALITY target shooting materials, rifles and barrels in the country. Its like asking "who are Rolls Royce?"
  16. Buy the Murom primers from HPS for £26 a thousand. They are not far over the bridge from you and they are excellent primers. Virtually the whole of our club uses them and has done for a couple of years now..
  17. Andy Burnham is a self publicist who is after Starmer's job, the pandemic is just grist to his mill. Starmer is fighting a dirty war behind his back. not out in front against Boris. He isn't really engaged in the day to day stuff.
  18. The point is there is not going to be many/any illegal parties in Norwich next week, thats certain. Don't pay your fines and you go to prison, thats the law
  19. I can easily believe it to be true 9pm ish tonight I went out to fill up for my weekly run from London to Cornwall tomorrow morning. Went past a big and very popular Turkish restaurant on the way that we often use. There wasn't a soul in it. just the staff sitting at a table doing nothing looking like they were bored. Thursday night that time normally the place would be half full at least. But while i was driving I was listening to Ian Dale on LBC. Somebody phoned in to say a lot of pubs in Liverpool are still open. If thats true its an enforcement issue. Slap a few £10,000 fines on the landlords and see how many are open after that
  20. Closing down well run pubs at 10pm is a waste of time but there lies the question. Are the pubs being well run? Did that lot in Liverpool look like they had just come out of pubs where they had all been sitting social distancing like good little boys and girls? Or did the party they had already been having inside spill out into the streets at 10pm?
  21. The police investigated him and found he had done nothing illegal. Stupid yes, illegal no. But he's not in power, he's not elected and he's not a civil servant.
  22. A local lockdown with out a travel ban is just a waste of time
  23. opportunists milking it for everything they can get out of it
  24. There mums and dads are who they will be taking the virus back to
  25. Kamakazi kids on powerful electric scooters now outnumber looneys on bikes round these parts. Apparantly you can upgrade them to get them to do really incredible speeds. Several claim 50mph plus out of the box
