  1. i lost it in a tent
  2. she couldnt understand the reg number you were saying, so what? happens all the time to me, m+n sound the same on the phone, as do c+v+p, etc, so i always use the phoenetic alphabet. dont understand how she got H and A mixed up though, you talking through a mouthful of biscuits??
  3. look them up on youtube, theres plenty of them. illegal here, but maybe not a bad thing, i read reports somewhere that semi auto mechanisms have trouble dealing with the 17hmr, been a few guns blowing themselves up
  4. anytime i lose something it usually ends up under oen of the beds. or the pup eats it
  5. speaking from recent experience (ie last night ) if possible burn them out. theyd built a hive in my lawn near a brick wall, destroyed the hive with lots of warm water on monday but they were trying to rebuild last night, so one newspaper and one bottle of white spirits later = problem sorted
  6. he would have been stumped if it was one of these squirrels...
  7. i found this with my marlin, fine for 20 or 30 then goes to pieces; ive been told that the hmr is a very dirty round and needs constant cleaning to maintain accuracy, and i have to admit a good clean sorts it. also i think the barrels probably not broken in yet
  8. oooh my marlins coming along nicely, would i be right in saying baz is sticking his arm in and getting his bipod and scope done too??? :look: good work so far mate
  9. nd-3 is close to £300 dont have a vid but i can guarantee i was shocked how well they work. ive owned a few green lasers so know how far the beam travels at night, i thought the nd-3 might be a bit weak, but as i said was picking up eyes at 150m+, theyre essentially a green laser with a lens in front of them to diffract the beam out, it can be focused for a wide beam for scanning then tightened up for a smaller beam to illuminate the target better
  10. mayfly has one, we took it out last week, unbelievable how well it worked! picked up rabbits out to 150m+, had a good field beam spread and showed rabbits up clearly when the beam was focused on them. have to admit theyre a bit pricey for me at the minute, if the attempted bodge job im making doesnt work () ill wait til hong kong start making them before picking one up
  11. although this only works if you dont rip them on barbed wire before getting in the water

Northern Irish police officer accidentally blasted a hole in a hot water tank at a private address in County Down in April 2007. bet he got in hot water for that one ill get me coat
  13. bet youre glad you finally got the gun good shooting
  14. i keep the mobile on vibrate and im usually in an area with very bad signal.... still doesnt prevent certain eejits with shotguns "not hearing" you telling them to stop walking when you spot half a dozen rabbits at 100 yards whilst carrying the hmr, subsequent result being said eejits watching half a dozen rabbits jumping down burrows 60 odd yards in front of them, then turning round and saying "whyd you not take a shot?"
  15. few more ive found when you sit down to have a smoke, something will appear the day you decide not to bother taking the game bag is the the day you really need it there is no such thing as having too much ammunition with you the time youre lining up the perfect shot will be the time your mate arrives in the car with speakers blaring and the wheels spinning and the final one when the farmer says he's over run with crows/rabbits, etc, sometimes he IS actually telling the truth
  16. what about some sort of live feed directly to a pc at home or something?
  17. hows the prosecution wrong? dont think you can do much as theyll probably have him for negligence, which is what id call letting 3 dogs loose in a public area beside a train track. very tragic accident, and im sure he's torn up by it, but if he had kept his dogs on a lead this wouldnt have happened. sorry
  18. shooting ones ive already shot doesnt count as killing them :good: i just try to zero mine around 100 yards, seems to work ok
  19. think its for up to 48" mate, it takes my 10/22 with room to spare, and thats with the silencer still attached, ill try to measure it tonight ps if anyones interested send me a pm, having trouble getting on here at mo
  20. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/10622864 personally i reckon its a combination of less ppw's and people confused by the paperwork
  21. my teens werent really that long ago, so im keeping my mouth shut
  22. clunky awkward things?! toys?! hmm defo spewing tosh now yes, people do buy them as toys, and fit all sorts of synthetic pistol grips and what not, and the novelty wears off, i did the same. but once you stick the original furniture back on (which i did) you find theres a proper gun underneath the terminator image. so hows it an unsuitable gun then? lets see, heres my experience of pumps vs semi's pumps - pro's - requires little cleaning, fires any size of shells, nearly indestructible, very few jams, and any jams are usually down to user error. once you are used to it, can get off 3 quick well aimed shots, as i demonstrated last year with 3 pigeons for 3 shots, and recently with 3 crows for 3 shots. con's - takes a bit of getting used to, cant "fill the air with lead and hope for the best" like with a semi, but can also be a pro as forces you to slow down and more take careful aimed shots - my hit ratio increased when i got a pump, no joking/boasting/stitching up. semis - pro's - quicker than a pump (bearing in mind the quicker you shoot the less accurate most people become). are self loading so dont have to pump in next shot. slightly less recoil than a pump. eh... pro's... hmm... more pro's... eh... right then. con's - need constant cleaning to keep working right and prevent jams (and some are quite complicated to clean), also are usually ammo fussy (some more than others) and if does jam they can be a pain in the backside to clear. spit empties a good distance away, usually into nettles/brambles/other shooters faces and last but not least, tempts people to "spray and pray" by emptying the gun at the target if the first shot is a miss. also as an afterthought semi's are less safe for a novice shooter when compared to a pump action, which has been pointed out on this site before and i wont go into again) now you also say youve used a pump, but that wasnt my question. my question was "but im wondering al4x have you actually ever used a pump action that youve spent the time getting used to and that fits you properly", because the posts youre sticking up here sound to me like you messed about on a pump action for half an hour once, werent used to it, the gun didnt fit you, and so youve just dismissed them out of hand right away. oh and im sorry if you think im trying to stitch this guy up with an unsuitable gun; its just that when he asked about pump actions i thought he could do with a bit of info and opinions from someone who regularly uses them (to great effect i may add) instead of all the usual responses you get on this subject from know it alls - in fact im quite surprised that "bank robber" hasnt been mentioned on here anywhere! but of course, this being pigeon watch, unless i tell him to get a £1k semi auto or a £2k over and under instead, then im stitching him up
  23. thanks for that as i said, its £35 including postage with light use, that site is £35 PLUS postage
