Just bin to this "new" shop and ,quite frankly, its not on my "must go again"list. We were the only 2 people in the shop and were totally ignored.I went there to buy a particular item they have advertised on the net-when I enquired i was told that they dont stock them-it was'nt until i mentioned the internet that they bothered to look and hey presto-they do stock them. What a shower of sssshhii clowns.

Spend a grand on a new ring and once you leave the shop you will be lucky if its worth half of that.Tell her you like the idea of an antique ring and look around the relevant shops-buy a gun with the cash that you save.If my other half wanted to blow a grand on a ring she would soon be my ex.

My shooting buddy has one in .177 and its simply a killing machine.I cannot recall,in over 30 years of airgun shooting, any other gun that comes close-if they were not so heavy i would buy one tomorrow.

Tin of crossman ultra's posted today.

I fail to see how putting your finger over the end of the barrel and firing the gun is stupid-I've seen plenty of well known gunsmiths do it-it only gets stupid if you fail to check that the gun is not loaded.Normal technique is to push your finger down hard and fire the gun-count 2 seconds and release-if you hear a puff of air then the breach seal is good.

On the other hand-my 3.5 Shogun blew itself to bits last week and ,as I rely on a car,I bought a Peugot 306 diesel from the bay-£350 without even seeing the thing.Turns out the best thing I've done in years-its doing almost 60 to the gallon and is happy to run on Bio Diesel at £1 a litre-I'm loving it.

You buy from an RFD and they charge £25-£30 to post it to your nearest RFD who then charge you the same for receiving it and doing any paper work-thats an additional £50+ in my book.If the gun in question is a £200 second hand jobby then thats an expense you could do without.A "friend" local to the shop could save you a considerable sum surely? And you can send a gun cheaper if you dont want next day-as TD states its about £12. :look:
-
Never understood why some enterprising dealer doesn't have a "friend" who, upon receiving payment from you and a TXT message asking him to do so,would simply pick up the gun and post it for you-SD next day insured is £23.Not illegal surely?

Before buying a cheap scope I would pop an add in the wanted section of this forum-I bought a 4-12x50 scope a short while back for just over £30-a Hawke milldot and it puts my much more expensive Niko to shame.Buy a scope with at least a 40mm objective lens and thats parallax adjusted for Air rifles-mag wise I doubt that you need go over 12 ever.

My daughter has taken mine for both SGC and FAC on her cheap digital camera -even the most basic printer should have 35x45 or passport size print capability-to date I have had no problems at all-cost is negligible compared to £5+ at a photo booth.

I can see Poo on the wall.

If you take it back and it is over the limit the shop,by law, will not give it back to you.
-
Have you bin playing with the trigger adjustments just before this started to happen?-sounds like the sear is not engaging properly.
-
I'll be brave and only say one thing-no discussions or any other arguments will be entered into.Following over 30 years of Airgun hunting---.177 calibre Air Arms S400/410 classic with a 50mm scope and sling+bipod if you are looking to play the waiting game.If you cant do the job with one of these you're gonna need get yoursen a 12 gauge.

Ok for short range rat work in fragile areas-shot hundreds of rats when i used to have one-Maglite fixed to the front grip and a laser pen taped along the barrel we used to burst into feed sheds with the torch on and the laser providing an aiming point-shooting from the hip was great fun.Sold mine cos the huge numbers of rats at the time highlighted its inability to rapid fire-bought a semi auto 9mm (rare beast)in the end.Waste of time feeding them .22 bullets-better group if you threw conkers.

Why?!!!!

Your dealer CANNOT sell you any gun without a basic warranty-to do so is in breach of your consumer rights-he would be liable to a hefty fine.If you are worried about this aspect of the deal then do not pay cash unless you get a proper receipt-this will act as your proof of purchase of this gun from this trader.Give trading standards a ring if you are unsure.

Tel Time-you need to do more than advise him at 11-you need to lay down the law.He will hate you in the short term but with puberty looming he needs to be as near angelic as possible.I was a total **** with my diabetes for 30 years but a Heart attack,a Stroke, loss of sight in my shooting eye followed finally by a double transplant has made me see the error of my ways.BTW well trousered Mr.deershooter-doesn't it pizz you off when you hear people beeching about having a cold.

Metric or Imperial?-Do they come with a lifetime guarantee?

Bargain of the year so far!!These things will Roger your rabbits big time. -
Check your consumer rights on this one-extended warranties are going to come back and bite insurance companies like PPI is at the moment-you have up to 6 years to claim if your machine goes belly up depending on various factors (price.use etc).Had my machine fixed free just last week and its near 2 years old.
-
How old is the machine-how much did it cost and did you buy it new? BTW-a lot of machines dont have replaceable bearings anymore-you need to replace the drum.
-
Did you get a written warning?-if yes can you give me brief details of the procedure please.
