  1. After a complete service/stripdown the gun is going to need several hundred rounds thru it before it settles down-from memory the early 35's use a leather piston washer so it could take even longer. If it were mine I would have stuck with the weirauch replacement spring.Next time you shoot the gun watch the muzzle for tell-tale signs of smoke to confirm that the gun is still burning off any excess oil.
  2. As far as I'm aware the position of the "eye bell" (Ocular assembly) has little effect on the accuracy-the image has already been internally aligned with the gun/target and the effect of moving the Ocular assembly out of alignment is similar to watching a T.V. from different angle-it doesn't alter the centre of the picture.
  3. If you cant shoot "stuff" with one of these-give up.
  4. Jesus H-the guy was only asking for help.Ultimately they are his dogs and unless someone knows better he has'nt done anything wrong-quite the opposite-he is asking for advice to prevent harming his dogs.Theres a whole world of deliberate cruelty and neglect out there, why are we hurling abuse at one of our own.
  5. Try and use the rifle the same as you intend to hold it when hunting-place your hands in the most comfortable position(and practice doing so)and avoid holding a springer too tightly.Hold the gun the same way when zeroing but allow your forearm to rest on a stable platform - doesn't matter if its hard or soft as long as your hand is between the two.A lot of hunters seem to use sticks these days-easy enough to make and try if you are walking long distances with a heavy gun.
  6. I disagree,zeff1357,I think he would need to get a whole lot better before he could be considered rubbish.
  7. Hollow points on a chest shot for a pigeon-really?Hollow points are designed to prevent over penetration at short range and thus deliver the pellets entire energy and are ideal for rat shooting. As for the idiot who told you that "flat topped" pellets were best for penetration-was he licking glass at the time?Forget fancy pellets and use the best performing dome head that you can find for your gun. Then sell it and get a .177
  8. Nice camera work but I prefer the clips on youtube.
  9. If,after cleaning the barrel,he is putting oil down it then thats most likely the problem-I have never cleaned my CZ in over 15 years of use and its superbly accurate.
  10. Stainless or Brass is too weak for any decent door-and I cannot recall seeing pan heads on a hinge? Get a good quality single threaded c/s woodscrew and pilot the hole then put margarine on the thread before driving it home.
  11. Ask a member of your local traveling community?
  12. Search ABE-bet theres hundreds.
  13. This is so obvious,Kaunda-what you need is a large little owl, downside up and flapping one leg whilst canting its head from side to side as it winks just one black eye.Put it in a tree in a hedgerow thats fenced off and make it look like its eating a black rabbit in a chicken costume. If you cannot be bothered to try work this out maybe you should take up another sport.
  14. If you are 100% certain that you have never got it wet then why bother trying to repair it yourself? You have consumer rights so use them.Ask them to prove water damage-if a tiny amount has seeped in around the seal then surely the phone is not fit for purpose?Surely you are not only going to use a phone when the sun is shining?Speak to consumer direct and follow their advice-these big companies need teaching a lesson.
  15. See,secretagentmole, theres another advantage of Air Arms ownership-a kind of brotherhood of fellow spirits. We are all,by nature,a bunch of really nice chaps.
  16. Stripping down and polishing high friction areas is fine-assuming you know what you are doing. This is really the domain of an Airgun specialist, which is why they exist.Doing the job yourself is satisfying but can cost you a finger or a fine if not done correctly.Interesting that someone has taken the time to find out if polishing a *urd is possible but I am not surprised that it involves Dinosaurs-after all thats when the Kral rifles were designed. BTW-had a Kral shotgun a few years back-it fell to pieces after less than 4 years.
  17. So sad to read your post following this one-I hate I told you so's but........Maybe secretagentmole can work his magic on your Turkish Delight but there is an old saying that rings true ,I think,in this case-you cannot polish a *urd.
  18. If you only do one thing before you decide which HW to choose-do yourself a favour and try a TX200-after doing so your only question will be which caliber TX to buy.Dont get me wrong-I've used and loved a great many HW's over the years but I have to admit, hand on heart, that the TX simply outclasses them.To help you with your new dilemma-go for the .177
  19. "Simple,buy a BSA or an HW"-over a S410? You're joking right?
  20. Try the Lodge-home of the RSPB-should be someone there to point you in the right direction
  21. Got one on my AA S400-nice scope and the adjustments are very positive-it is a bit ott for an airgun but it works just fine-good clear optics but you need to focus the objective lens for different ranges to get the clearest picture.
  22. Gonna be brutally honest Brad-if your spelling/diction on your emails are as ropey as in your post you will be lucky to be allowed to get permission to use a water pistol. You need to stack as many positives in your favour as humanly possible and ,in my opinion, emails(even perfectly written ones) rarely work.
  23. If its pellet on pellet at 30 yards it will be the same at 45-theres no mystical fairy out there that waits for your slug to pass the 30 yard mark before whacking it off-course with a Golf Racket.Only possible reason would be using wadcutter slugs-they become unstable as the velocity drops-but you would need to have lost a brain cell to loneliness to use wadcutters at this range.Gonna pm you my mob number-i'm only a couple of miles from you and have got a brand new scope/mounts that you can try.
  24. Nothing personal, chrisyboy, but I have to be honest. For someone who is "not wealthy" you seem hell bent on throwing your money away.Bought the gun cos "you liked the look of it?"-biiig mistake-you should try before you buy anything if humanly possible. With such a limited budget you would have been wise to buy second hand-another £40 would have bought you a selection of Weirauch's (some new)or maybe even a TX200.If I were you and I had bought the Turkish Delight from a shop then I would use the distance selling laws to return the thing-I would then save a few more squid whilst visiting local shops/clubs to gain a little knowledge(knowledge is your best friend )then buy a gun on reputation and personal experience rather than cos it looks pretty. If in any doubt about buying an Airgun follow the Golden rule-if the barrel(at the very least)is not German then walk away.
  25. These are fantastic guns-over the years I have bought and sold enough guns to make my local FEO cry-but would never part with my one of these.
