How on earth can you sit and watch that steaming pile of carp?

Well said,Greymaster. From the heart and to the point.

Now I know he's a big lad-TX200 faultless IMHO.

Makita all the way-bin to their factory and its superb. We use a DeWalt 18V drill at work and in less than a year the case is coming apart+the reverse switch is easily snagged by your finger in its normal operating position-terrible design in my opinion.

This is easy to settle-pop down to your nearest dealer who has a range and try the 97 against, say,a used S400 or even a new S200.Then buy the gun that proves most accurate and easy to shoot-all you need to do then is decide which caliber Air Arms you will go for (.177). :good:

You cannot beat the scent of a warm early morning fur burger-while the dew is still on it

Long range spit balling-with a drinking straw and soft paper-knocked a kid off the window ledge in McDonalds last week with a clean head shot.

A full english from the Tesco's in Hunstanton-after that my final breath couldn't come soon enough

From memory the washer changed from leather to synthetic in the early eighties-only mention it cos theres many a 30 year old weirauch still going strong.

"The Branding" Dancake?-you will need to run that past me a whole lot slower-what is "the branding"?
-
After a complete service/stripdown the gun is going to need several hundred rounds thru it before it settles down-from memory the early 35's use a leather piston washer so it could take even longer. If it were mine I would have stuck with the weirauch replacement spring.Next time you shoot the gun watch the muzzle for tell-tale signs of smoke to confirm that the gun is still burning off any excess oil.

As far as I'm aware the position of the "eye bell" (Ocular assembly) has little effect on the accuracy-the image has already been internally aligned with the gun/target and the effect of moving the Ocular assembly out of alignment is similar to watching a T.V. from different angle-it doesn't alter the centre of the picture.

If you cant shoot "stuff" with one of these-give up.

Jesus H-the guy was only asking for help.Ultimately they are his dogs and unless someone knows better he has'nt done anything wrong-quite the opposite-he is asking for advice to prevent harming his dogs.Theres a whole world of deliberate cruelty and neglect out there, why are we hurling abuse at one of our own. -
Try and use the rifle the same as you intend to hold it when hunting-place your hands in the most comfortable position(and practice doing so)and avoid holding a springer too tightly.Hold the gun the same way when zeroing but allow your forearm to rest on a stable platform - doesn't matter if its hard or soft as long as your hand is between the two.A lot of hunters seem to use sticks these days-easy enough to make and try if you are walking long distances with a heavy gun.

I disagree,zeff1357,I think he would need to get a whole lot better before he could be considered rubbish.

Hollow points on a chest shot for a pigeon-really?Hollow points are designed to prevent over penetration at short range and thus deliver the pellets entire energy and are ideal for rat shooting. As for the idiot who told you that "flat topped" pellets were best for penetration-was he licking glass at the time?Forget fancy pellets and use the best performing dome head that you can find for your gun. Then sell it and get a .177

Nice camera work but I prefer the clips on youtube.
-
If,after cleaning the barrel,he is putting oil down it then thats most likely the problem-I have never cleaned my CZ in over 15 years of use and its superbly accurate.

Stainless or Brass is too weak for any decent door-and I cannot recall seeing pan heads on a hinge? Get a good quality single threaded c/s woodscrew and pilot the hole then put margarine on the thread before driving it home.
