  1. Me and a mate are heading up from Kent, be nice to shoot somewhere new
  2. I think I saw this on YouTube, apparently you start off way in front then ease back to the correct lead... Who knew I suppose a tennis racket is a negative lead situation, bring the racket to the strike point, I was watching that massive rugby player shot explain how he's reinvented the wheel with his slice shot, we've been lining up in the pickup point then dropping the barrel's out the line keeping out heads in the same position for years, still missing though...
  3. I guess it's a personal choice thing, my nature is to analyze everything, eb if the camera shows that in general I'm just behind I will try to just push a little more lead as I never know where the shot went, I'm a fiddler with everything looking to find the best results for me, my friend in the other hand has a benilli U825?? Fully adjustable/multie choked etc, he's never touched it and just shoots the chokes that were screwed in when he bought it, it could have skeet and full for all he cares, and he's a much better shot than me, when I ask him about lead etc he just says "I dunno I just shoot at it" he's a natural and builds it all in without thinking, he's about 85% average, me I have to work very hard at everything just to be average
  4. I have had a similar experience with the additional weight at the barrels, both my guns balance perfect on the hinge but the extra weight can help, but I don't use it every time. I agree with shotkam about seeing repeated mistakes and then I can try and be aware.
  5. I haven't read all the comments, but I have one and I find it helpful, I can see a consistent mistake or the way the barrels move etc, it has helped me understand my consistent mistakes so I can try to remember and out a better process in place, do I shot better, not really asi have to put it into practice, I do notice that I'm so close to hitting all if them but the little things are the misses, get one

    Shotkam

I have a mk3 (not for sale) I think it's a very useful tool I saw the spec for the mk4, lots of extras, but do you need them?? , A good used mj3 is plenty I would think
  7. Tbh anyone looking for a gun like that will know it's priced about right for a private sale, very nice guns, I've looked at them many times as I'm gun fit OCD, good luck
  8. Ii just bought.a used salvinelli Duke after handling a new one at Chris potter , thought it was worth a punt
  9. I had a Zoli years ago, they are very well made, but like you I couldn't hit much, but I hadn't been shooting for long, whereas my mate couldn't miss with it, in America they are as well respected as any of the UK favourite brands, the UK are really in the Beretta/Browning camp. It does mean that is you buy any other brands you are likely to get punished if you try to sell on. I have a Fabarm XLR Velocity, it is a much better gun than any of the Beretta autos I've owned, I couldn't give it away (not that I want to) and everyone who trys it is always surprised how good it is, and it's HP steel proofed to full choke
  10. I have a 1/2 available, pm me if you're interested
  11. I had lessons, I went from 65% average to 80% same gun which fitted me perfectly but just altering a few things, I would definitely recommend a set of weekly lessons, perhaps 6, my scores have slipped lately so I might go for a refresher as my old poor habits are quite ingrained and hard to not "reset" back to. Incidentally regarding fit, I badly broke my collarbone so the mount position changed and I decided to have a comb adjuster fitted, made the alterations and the gun is back to where I want it
  12. It depends on the demographic, over 50yr probably no mortgage, low/no debt and still earning so no issues with price increases
  13. Usually on a week day about 8stands open, claymate, various degrees of difficulty, Sunday comp days, £40 to enter and £35 bird only, upto 12 stands from doable to ***!! the ones "round the back" sort the men from the boys, most end up boys if you know what I mean, a food wagon at the entrance, plenty of parking. Mainly open flat ground at the front more technical round the back, a pattern plate is usually available on weekdays, and a 5 stand sporting thing(can't remember what that discipline is called) skeet is never open.

    Why?

As far as I'm aware the only auto guns proofed for hp steel at full choke are Fabarm all others are only up to half choke, HP proofing is just for the extra pressure, all steel proofed guns I think that are multichoke are only up to 1/2 choke
  15. Having shot both I'd go DT11, WITH an adjustable comb and for me 32"
  16. Was on "holiday hit squad" with Nick Knowles and live next door to a household name (we were here first)
  17. I was born in England, I like it here, I think I'll stay till the end.
  18. I used to believe in the bird flight into the clay, after I watched the above video and did some simple maths, at 1250fps it takes about 1/10 sec to travel 40m towards a clay moving at say 30mtps, not much chance of anything flying into a pattern
