  1. Great to see dogs in action, they loved it. All credit to you.
  2. My hand loads with 69gr SMK's, N140, CCI 400's, and Winchester cases work out at £55/100 for the 1st 100, less for each subsequent reload. Am on 8th reload currently with no pressure signs on the cases. Good for 600m with a 1in 9 twist.
  3. Mr. Jealous here says... "an 1864 Purdey? whats wrong with a new gun?"
  4. Congratulations, you now have a well stocked freezer.
  5. There were now 138 troopers on that balcony.....
  6. Cheers Billy, best laugh I've had in a long while. It was the link that made it.
  7. One hell of an anti-climax. Will have to go out and get some Christmas presents now.
  8. Nice to see a girl that is interested in shooting. My eldest is more interested in 1D (?) that going out down the range or on my permissions, have even encouraged her to go into the schools CCF with no joy. Oh well.
  9. None on either of my permissions near Canterbury, am well miffed as I made 3 ltrs last year. What's the reason? The Torygraph says this: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/foodanddrink/9557897/Blackberries-and-sloes-are-scarce-but-take-your-pick-of-rose-hips.html
  10. Didn't realise this was going on - my error. So far this year 423 (including 5 tonight, one of which was my 1st black one) Total 4807 P

  12. Very nice. Let us know what they taste like.
  13. I have to say this - is is only jealousy on my part, but your posts are getting rather repetitive. Amazing
  14. The vodka didn't last. Tasted lovely but a bit medicinal. Nice long drink when added soda water and ice to it. Will definately make up some more when I can get more cherries.
  15. Late reply - but completely gobsmacked. I'd get in touch with the county firearms licensing dept. We don't need ****** like these about. Also, spread the word amongst other forums. Get them named and shamed
  16. A first for me, I've just made up some cherry brandy and vodka. Vodka, 250g of cherries pitted and quartered (just to get them in the bottle) 100g sugar 1/2 bottle vodka (sainsburys cheapy in this case). Will come to just over 3/4 full in a 700cc bottle Brandy 250g of cherries pitted and quartered (again, just to get them in the bottle) 30g sugar 1/2 bottle of brandy. Will let you know the outcome in December. Roll on the sloes....
  17. 155gr SMK powered by 46gr N140, out of a 26" barrel, gave this - posted on UKlongrange by me .... Joined the FCSA as a guest at Lydd last month for their pilgrimage to S45 at Lydd. It is a hard target range with a lot of Fig12 and Fig 11 ETRs on it out to 1100m. They have 2 or 3 Fig.11 ETRs on the left hand side of that range at 950 - 1050m. I think they are target numbers 21 -23. Shooting my TPG-1 at the 850m Fig11 and not missing, I asked my oppo to spot my shots, as I was now going to try for the 1000m hit. 13 rounds later we saw a splash just in front on the target berm and worked in from there. 3 rounds later the Fig 11 fell over. Disbelief on my part. The next round, Bang, it fell over again. £$%% me. Bang, down it went again. What a high. 'I'll stop there. Don't want to spoil that ... 3/3' . Leaves the range on such a high. Result. Scope settings, 38Min elevation, 8 3/4 min windage. 38min elevation = 38 inches @ 100m therefore 38 x 10 (as it was 1000m) = 380 inches so 380 inches / 12 = 31.6 feet - over 9m - nearly 10m above point of aim.
  18. Bloody bonza bag. Excellent work that is.
  19. Is your mates allotment radioactive? That's a monster. Nicely done.
  20. That would require a belt fed shotgun - or a goalkeeper/phalanx unit.
  21. That does look Gucci. Very nice job.
