  1. Took the son out today to gain some experience pigeon shooting, there are some big flocks forming (at last) but its hard to keep them coming sat in one hide and no other shooters around to keep the birds moving and loads of choice of rape fields for the birds to feed, so took a flight line and after four hours here’s the result of them that didn’t get away ! Son missed a load but hey he enjoyed the morning and carn't wait to go again. ps hope the photo looks ok.

    Dead frogs

Your frogs died because of the cold weather as most leave the water and hide simular as toads in undergrowth, under rocks, etc and they carnt hold their breath all winter under water lol ! If your pond is open then by placeing a airline and ball (as stated) will help but you must never turn off your filter !! Either cover pond if small like a polly tunnel or float bubble wrap over surface (if wide staple B/wrap together)and bubble wrap filter box, dont start emptying and refilling ponds at this time of year as quick water temp changes will cause as much harm to your fish as a bit smelly water. This is a quick tip as i dont know your setup ?
  3. Read your post quickly found this ? scroll down the page http://www.diydata.com/materials/electric_cable/electric_cable.php
  4. Before you spend think of this ? Have a friend who works in an eye infirmary and I asked the question is it worth it, laser eye treatment, and his reply was only if you want to be specticle free ! as for how long good vision will last no one knows ? thats why its not done on the nhs !
  5. Defo what pyr8 said, I also have fish mixed batch of koi / goldfish ect, I to have a couple on their sides so dont panic just monitor their health if you notice white eyes then its dead. The warmer weather when it comes is the only cure unless you move them into a heated enviroment.
  6. Id go with lineshooter also - easy to replace power supply average price £20-£25
  7. Think a phone calls in order just to make sure, Bit like the gun/cabinet shareing system, you registered the storage address as your parents while you were at home so personally dont think you have any problem leaving at your parents? as you have the key to the cabinet.
  8. After reading your post it sounds as you have already made a decision ? But as many others have written its not a status symbol but makes a good work horse and yes I do own one in O/U and carnt fault it.
  9. Same here ! Good to place all the gear in but how far do you walk ? as I did the silly thing and loaded with the lot, Magnet, 24 shell decs, Net , hide poles, 17ah battery , 100 carts and when I stood up the straps burst at the attachments because they were made of plastic ! so changed for a four quick links and hey presto on me back and god this is heavy came over as a thought but you know alls in bag bar the gun.
  10. Well Lads just watched my local news itv northeast tonight and again the Cumbria shooting by dereck bird was their top story and the waffle of his licensing and how many rounds hes allowed to have etc, boils my blood ! just wish they would get more info from the relavent people first when making a story and inform the puplic of the rules permitted for shotgun and FAC, so they know all was in order ! other than peoples opions on what they say is wrong before making judgement on all shooters.
  11. Hi Steve , Ive a shooting warehouse flapper the square box type , I removed the pop rivets and found the motor held in place by very small style allen bolts but easy to get to with long nose plyers. the replacement motor cost £21 if you find you do have the same drop me a PM and al sort the purchase details out and forward the info.
  12. Been out today and yes Hawthorn berries, most of the fields around where I shoot are finished seeding and the pigeon flocks are getting big but the shooting still hard at the moment must be to much for them about to feed on.
  13. Did have a good buy from a northallerton shop ! 30g x 6s fiber £40 plastic £38 OK cart But now after a couple of months fibre up to £44 and plastic £43 and when ask the question why more, they said another supplier told them the price was to low in comparison to theres, so the shop needs to up the price to equal their brand ! Dont want to mention which brand, Reps ! what a load of *********. :
  14. On a good note most hooks rot very quickly if it does lodge anywere and been inside the dog hopefully this will speed up the process as others have said shame you didnt identify the brand as waiting for it to pass is going to take a very close examination. If its not chipped a metal detector will come in handy
  15. Hi TJ the O ring sizes required are to fit shaft (mine) is 25.7mm Diameter and the thickness of 2mm just been and measured with verniers. so if you get 26 x 2mm should be fine, diy or motorcycle shop should have in stock.
  16. Remember when you go online the sites you are visiting have the main control so your problem might only be a link through AOL its not your computer unless you know of what you have altered for internet settings . Personally wait another day or two and if problem persists contact AOL dont adjust any computer settings.
  17. Same here lots of young birds, most from last week were heavy in moult the only problem is to get afew more shooters out to keep them moving and might get a good days shoot.
  18. 125 as an average when with o/u but some times get over excited with the semi and debating to take a few more.
  19. Hi All , Been a good bit read on peoples opions but a question I want to ask is in the days when you done the door knocking did you say to the the land owner may I have permission and by the way im going to start a bussiness using your land cos thats what this thread is starting to read like ? If you offered the land owner a fee to shoot then OK charge to reclaim seems fair at the right price. posted not to offend.
  20. Bored also - 8lb 10oz and Congratulations for when he/she arrives.
  21. Hi Follow the link http://www.thenewiceage.com/after-my-partn...-they-be-kept-t
  22. Hope this works for you follow the link this person explains about temp , hang , and for how long http://honest-food.net/2008/11/27/on-hanging-pheasants/ seems logical .
  23. Again no Dis but fletch has a good point , in my book vermin is a favour to the land owner to get rid of, and as a good gesture a bottle a xmas to keep the job right for game then I put as a luxury and then a fee maybe introduced as according !
