  1. Incorrect, the velocity will be reduced due to the increased weight of the projectile, therefore effectively roughly equally reducing the ft/lb, not saying it's not going to have an effect but not extensive If you wantec to stay legal and be 100% then check using a chronograph. The best pellet for rabbits would be the most accurate (lead) other materials like alloy super do it all just tend to drill through IMO
  2. Oh I see ! Of course how silly of me not to think of that. No I think I'll keep using my wooden cleaning rod, thanks all the same.
  3. Have a look at "quiltknit" I think they now come under a different name "Lansdown" very very warm, kept me warm when its been down to -10 & less as a layer, I have a v neck and zip neck brilliant. Around £65 ?
  4. Shot gun You can't scrub with a pull through.
  5. Huff huff selling acorn cams, very good, give him a pm he will sort you out I'm sure,
  6. Deks, think about it,,,,,, prob a typo SSG not SSSG, and whats so wrong about having the ability for a 2nd shot and ASAP, oh! It wasn't meant to be a question.
  7. There are stronger copper removing chemicals than hoppes, if your not getting any signs of copper then your extremely lucky. But I really can't believe you have a rifle barrel that doesn't pick up any copper after the amount if shots you've put through. You could try other cleaner's, butchers bore shine, KG copper solvent, sweets (one of the strong ones) bore foam. Try one and see what results you get.
  8. Socks.( just been nudged, nice ones) shirt. Cognac VSOP champagne. Bit of money scarf loads of reloading gear.
  9. Plastic bags are not good. Get it out ASAP then fridge. Turning the fridge down too helps. But the poultry does need to be fresh in the 1 st place. Fezant Polish by any chance ;-)
  10. Went christmas shopping for the the good lady the other day, put a ticket on for an Hr, it was just over 45 minutes from the time i left home and back, all done. Its like tyre kickers, no time for them if there interested they will buy if not, go away. I travelled a fiar few miles not long ago to pick some logs up from a member , it cost me more than normal with fuel added on but i said i would have them and stood by my word, nice day out though.
  11. Have a look at all 30 cals if you cannot change mind, the 300 Short Action Ultra Mag will fit the bill and exedes 30.06 velocity's. Will a 30.06 hit a 4-6" disk at 600yds more than capable. i have on old 30.06 A Bolt that clover leafs at 100yds and 295yds will do 1.5 inches in the dark. ( i ran out of time and used the truck lights to check zero) I must say i am looking at a variation next year for a 260
  12. From what I can see we are not the one's making anyone look stupid, I think thats self inflicted the same as the hearing damage. You can offer all the advice and facts available but it doesn't mean folk's take it on board. Maybe some people have bionic ears, I don't know, I've seen it on tele so could be true.
  13. 12 years in service and not accepting being told what to do Straight in from public school I agree its entirly up to you if you want too look after yourself or not, but you can put money on it your hearing has allready been irreparably damaged. As allready been posted your trying to have a conversation with freinds relations, grand children, your going to miss out on an awfull lot if you cant hear them properly and keep having to keep saying "Aye" every 2 minutes.
  14. I dont suppose there would be any harm in using the kinetic hammer to knock them out a tad then seat them all to the same depth with a seating die, that would cure one of the issues thats bugging you. They will need to be concentric though so will need to come out enough for the die to seat them correctly or you will possibly make things worse. But you need to ask yourself if its really worth it I think if you want to go down the reloading route then you need to do all of it not just 1/2 a job, if you know what i mean, then you will really start to fuss about thing not all being equal
  15. As you say Ed regarding snap shooting, you dont have much time to ;- see some movement, shoulder the rifle, track the target, check the target then decide to take the shot or not. And all that in very very few seconds and your heart is banging hard against the inside of you chest trying to get out. Once mistake and as you say can cost you dearly and your reputation as a safe shot which could end up costing more than you could imagine
  16. 30's are not normally given as a choice for Fox, there are more suitable smaller cal's that would run cheaper as a Foxing round, you have a 243 that is ideal for the job. you say "longer range" what is long range in your opinion 6.5's are becoming the choice for any long range shooting because of the high BC low recoil and allot less powder than an 06. If i was going long range i would definately be looking at 6.5 due to cost, recoil and most of all ability over the 30.06
  17. Aigle Parcours Iso, got the Mrs a pair for Christmas after i have had mine for a few years and been very happy with them, warm and comfy. "amazon" were the cheapest i'de seen on www
  18. The mighty 30.06 will sure manage the task you expect of it with ease, a bit OTT for Fox though i have taken a few with mine I shoot an A Bolt its a basic tool and extremly accurate with 150SST's, the Euro is nice though rolled cheek piece, rose wood end caps and may possibly have a set trigger. Nice rifles, built to do a job
  19. Take a good look at both, the weihrauch has a faultless trigger renowned for quality and has one of the best triggers of all the rf rifles. the cz is more of a basic tool less refined than the hw60 but nonetheless its good at what it is designed to do., I think you need to handle both and make your own decision, look at spare magazine cost, and check them both out for ease of use, changing mags etc, as most times will be in the dark while out lamping .
  20. LOL was waiting for that well funny. I thought exactly the same. ;-) Oh ! By the way I was asked to be a ref but declined due to the op being known for the odd bit of poaching.
  21. So, If a shoty is out of proof then is the next stage in its life the furnace or can it be given an extended life via re-sleeving obviously taking into account the cost of repair to the cost of the shotgun value.
  22. Looks like they got you some Big Boar to shoot out there, cracking pictures and well done on the shooting I see your using the new Browning straight pull "Maral", i,m getting tempted to swap my A bolt 30.06 for one in the same cal, ive got it on my you-tube favorites cant stop watching it. I think its going to be a late Christmas present to me. What are they like compared to the Blaser or Sauer straight pull, ive tried both but thought my A bolt was quicker, (its well worn and a good wind will blow the bolt back its so smooth)
  23. Thats not bad at all £5 a day Eddy
  24. Shawn pm me your number I'll give you a bell if you want.
  25. Shawn, 223 or any other 22 cf will suffice or a 20 if you fancy something different. Have you had experience with cf
