  1. What chemicals did you put in
  2. 21% Lowest yet, thats me all over cool kalm and nothing evers bothers me, wot a load of tosh.
  3. You're looking for something that's cosmetically pleasing to the eyes, and practical. For me it's one or the other, mine don't look small, 31x10.5x15 . Its practicalities that decided for me not bling points, I'm sure 15inch will meet your requirements, changing my tyre's has raised the truck 2inches just by changing the tyre's.
  4. Good idea, and between opening time's we could patrol the streets and report anyone for illegal parking, and maybe if you didn't need to get up for work in the morning we could check out the area for suspected burglary. Yeah brilliant idea,
  5. +1 Tyre's direct good service and helpful if you are buying new, I bought some for mine for nobblies but unfortunately the offset is weird on an invincible, (returned for a full refund ) all I wanted to do was jack it up and change the wheels, but unfortunately at the moment I've just changed the tyre's over. Hankooks MT have been good on mine, very good off road and ware well, 3 years ;-) got Maxxis trepador on now couldn't get Hankooks til January.
  6. I did wonder, but I think what it does do is read from weather, gps position. Only temp, altitude and barometric pressure just checked, latest uploaded version, nothing on mine. just been looking on play store, there's apps with plug in anemometers.
  7. If you eat tinned fish whether its in water or oil, save the liquid and put that in with the hoof bait. I use an atomiser some times and spray arount a pre baited area, ive even sprayed it on the truck tyre's to help mask the smell of my aftershave and flatulence. It all helps
  8. To validate the trajectory against the app i would put in real drops at (distance-75/100/125/150.175 as examples) targets at given distance aim at centre bull ALWAYS and compare the drop with the app, fine tune using BC, it shouldnt be too far off, the only down fall with rf is the consistancy.
  9. I use a basic Kestrel. Just reads wind speed , it shows max, average and lowest.
  10. No more likely pheasant, only sheep on there. It was in the field to the right moments beforehand, its a pity there aren't any deer on there, there's gotta be some roundabouts ( fingers crossed )
  11. Been awake since 17.50 Friday still wide awake not slept all night it will be the same for the next 2 nights  Perm nights is my problem 4 on 4 off the 4 off sound good but it takes 2 days to get back to any normall life style, 1st day off i sleep for about 4.5 hrs dont bother eating anything decent, just dont feel like it, have 2 pints around 22.00 then bed for 23.30 wake up at 04.00 or earlier, thats day 2, so feel like a zombie all day. Go to bed around midnight because i'm buzzing at around 21.00 cant keep still, so clear off out for a shooting session.Day 3 i'm and i seem to be back to normal (well i think so) same pattern for years but gradually getting harder to get back to normal the older i'm getting.
  12. Well in theory yes I agree, wait for it ,,,,,, But a large majority of shooters progress from air power to rf, then onto cf, the increase in power from air rifles to rf and cf is huge, learning what a safe shot with a 12ft lb rifle pushing a pellet at 600fps is one thing but firing a cf at 3700 fps is a different ball game. Making mistakes with the latter would be unthinkable, learning to walk before running is a reason for the restrictions. I personally had no objections and understand why I was restricted, but in my case didn't find it a problem. Some may obviously find it awkward.
  13. Kent, I certainly don't disagree with your expert opinion, but must say the phone app has put my just about perect on the centre ( as shown) at not only at 330 yds but also out to 442yds I'll be it just a tad 1.5inch low, not bad for such a small cal and a £3 phone app. S.W.A.G is as it implies is guessing but with some maths added to try and improve the limitations. After the shots, I studied the group hence the calipers compared with the app and fiddled with wind speed and measured and noted the differences. None of which have been too far off, so end of day, I am wiser regards to wind variations not perfect, but a little wiser, without the app I would probably still be there in the field trying to hit the target. ;-)
  14. Just checked out some reviews, and to be honest after reading the article, you'd be better off using a couple of fag butts in your ears. They are more likely to damage your hearing than protect it.
  15. One thing I hope I will allways try to do Sir, thats listen to those who are older and mostly wiser than myself, Thanks Alf and wishing you and your family all the best over the festive season. Hope to see you next year, happy shooting.
  16. Kent thanks for the compliment (i took it as one anyway) they're not too common from your neck of the woods. It would or I should say could have been a better group if I hadn't have been trying to walk my shots to centre . Trying to fine tune a ballistic app at the time, its not far off but getting the wind right was confusing my brain cell.
  17. nice shooting, I am having problems uploading some driven Boar footage taken last weekend, i've got my nephew helping soon but not for a couple of weeks, what did you use to download it please ?
  18. sorry,, edited to correct description of the MIGHTY 30.06
  19. Just thought i would put this up, will put a vid up later. Got a bit board so I took my 22.250 out for a play this afternoon, I have the elevation just about right but as the long range experienced shooters on here will know the windage is quite allot more difficult to judge. Wind was quite variable ranging from 2mph to 4.5mph showing a difference of just over 2inch. The top 2left are from a MIGHTY 30.06 at 295yds a few week's ago next to that top row were sighters . The group measures 1.7in and 10 shots taken including 1 clean miss which I called.
  20. Save all scrap food keep, if you eat tinned fish save the juice, oil or water its kept in.keep baiting the same area, before you go out with your rifle chuck a load of cheap cat or dog biscuits around and soak in the fish juices. You can get ba bulk bag for about £5 what you will benefit from is finding out what time you're fox is visiting, Tie a rabbit to the battery of a cheap alarm clock from wilko, s or similar (£1.99)using fishing line or similar. (tape on stop it sliding off) put in a tupaware box with string threw a hole peg down container as the rabbits taken it stops the clock. ( have a fiddle try pulling and checking it pulls the battery out you may need tl secure the clock in the tub so the battery has room vto be pulled away freely)
  21. That's obviously going to be the big decider, budget... What mounts are available too, is the safety noisy when being operated, additional mag, or loading methods, can you load from the top ? Loads of options out there, blued or ss wood or plastic.

The VX1 from experience will fail you as the light fades, your budget of 500 will need to be 2nd hand S&B or Swarovski. in my opinion I would ask for money for Christmas and save a bit more, you will get your return via Deer in the freezer. Stretch as far as you can and get the best, if you have 500 in you pocket, if you dont mind and bif you can Utting offer interest free credit and are reasonably well priced.
