At the end of the day it doesn't matter if it was a full bore,a shot gun or a air rifle.It was a GUN the authorities need to be notified of this before somone gets shot.

I'm afraid there are more nutters out than there is in.I think in a situation like this where the police are 100% sure the person has a gun they should shoot to kill.It will be us the law abiding citizen that pays the penalty for there stupidity. A few years ago we had a similar situation in a town near me,the police closed the road for a few hours while they tried to negotiate with him,in the end he gave up.Because he was drunk and a few grey cells missing they looked at it in a different light,got community service.In my eyes a airgun is no different to a ak47 it's a gun.And should be dealt with in the same way.It is the police's duty to protect the general public if it means killing a lunatic wielding a gun of any sort then so be it. Had another go this morning,shot another 7.the local game dealer is closing down so it looks like i've got to go round the local butchers and see if they want some.I have read a lot about people needing to do a meat handling course before they can sell meat.I have done a advanced health and hygiene in the handling of meat.Is this enough or will i have to do the course

Matt,my day was pretty much the same.I shot the same field last week and had 38.The way i look at it is we are there to do a job,keep the birds off the fields.Keep plugging at it and the farmer will ask you to come again.I think too many people want to go out and have big bags every time,if i have a couple of good shots i go home happy

Thanks for the advice badsworth,most of the land i shoot hasn't been cut yet.Me and a mate lamp it approx 3000 acres.Last week they started cutting the rape within 10 mins of the combine leaving the field a cub was on his way to meet his maker.We had 22 last year hope to beat that this year.

Well done,do you only use a 12b for your foxing.I usually use a .243.Never realy tried a 12b.After reading your success i might give it a go.I know where there is a couple of dens to try.How would i go about it,times of day,do you put a bait out to attract them,what calls etc

sharp-shooter you say that 'blood loss isn't a efficient way to way to die' im afraid if the animal is bleeding enough it will die.I would say a well placed head shot is the best way to kill a animal.Look at the size of a airifle pellet and the size of a pigeons head.It's like a human being hit with half a brick.

I think you will find you could buy the records up until about 8-10yrs ago.If the shot didn't hit them the bang would deafen them and the flames would cook them.And they kick like a mule
