    Olympic Shooting

I'll whack some pics up later, give you an idea of what its like. The shooters had no cover either, at least for the skeet, don't know if that'll change for the trap, I'd doubt it.

Food and drink are horribly expensive so take your own. Well food at least. An empty sports drink bottle can be filled with water inside the venue free, you cant take any liquids more than 100ml in with you. Theres no cover in the viewing stands (for shotguns anyway) so check the forecasts and take appropiate clothing and a small umbrella if it looks like rain. Other than that its all pretty good. Hope you have a reat day too.

    Olympic Shooting

Well I had my day out at the Womens Skeet today. It was great fun and it went so quickly, always a good indicator of having a good time. Got there really early, had a row with the Army security about the size of my flag, I won and then bagged a couple of really good seats to see all the action. Our girl bombed badly, so no Brit interest in the final and after a heavy soaking, it was almost like someone ordered the sun for the final and it duly appeared. The American girl was on fire, hitting a new Olympic record 99 to take the gold, the Chinese were 2nd with the Slovak girl taking 3rd after a dramatic shoot off. All in a good day and well worth the trip.
  4. Now you know, next time your burgled or need a copper in A hurry tell them there's someone outside with a pellet gun :-)
  5. I'm on my 2nd. Had an 02 plate cdi 110 and now a 57 plate 111 cdi and both have been brilliant. 5 seats with plenty of space in the back for gear, tows my caravan with ease, both have been reliable with no breakdowns at all, although servicing at the main dealers, who are generally poor and expensive in my opinion, should be avoided if possible. Mine have been company vehicles too so cheaper tax as a commercial. Would I have another, without a moment's hesitation.
  6. My Mrs uses a 20g semi auto with 21g carts, light and gentle on the shoulder too. might be worth trying one if you can.
  7. Stick me in as a reserve if the numbers don't stack up please. I'll have a day off for that
  8. Welcome to a fellow Harlower, there's a few of us here now and I'm sure you'll have no problem finding a shooting buddy, or 6 with that very generous offer.
  9. My understanding is they have to have a solid barrel restriction and vent from the top. Anything that vents through the barrel is illegal.
  10. As the great Kenny once said... "Round 'em all up, put 'em in a field and bomb the ********"
  11. Day of the Cheetah by Dale Brown (not to be confused with that other Brown of The Da vinci ****) It's a sort of Firefox in reverse.

  14. Had mine coming on for a year now. Has been brilliant with no issues at all. Shoots well, (when the liveware points it in the right direction anyway), is easy to get apart and clean and has cycled everything I've thrown at it down to 21 grammers. You won't go too far wrong with a Maxus and even if you don't like it you'll get your money back on it if you decide to sell in a month or 2
  15. My extended choke is a 1/2 also
  16. You're alquaeda, really that's great, hold the line please. (Away from phone but loud enough to hear) Johnny, ok, get a fix on this calls origin, put the predators in the air and tell tac com to load for busting buildings... (Back to phone...) Hi, thanks for holding be right with you. (Away from phone) Flash the CIA with GPS data and clear the flush the birds into the area... (Back to phone) Thanks for calling strike command at MI6, one of our representatives will be calling on you real soon, have a nice day. Click.
  17. I have a Maxus Hunter in 28" flavour, must be getting on for a year now and so far it's been faultless. I looked at a few semi-autos when I was buying but as soon as I picked it up and shouldered it I knew it was the one for me. If you can get on with it, and some clearly don't, then you won't go far wrong as far as autos are concerned.
  18. Really fascinating stuff. I've heard of 'wild camping' in the uk before but it's boy scout stuff compared to the USA. You have to admire those folks, well, the ones that aren't completely tonto anyway.
  19. This isn't too bad a starting point... My link
  20. o2 will unlock one of thier own iphones gratis, just down this with our old one.
  21. Are you a homicidal, raving, pyschopathic maniac? Yes.....I mean No.
  22. I guy I shoot with also bought one, for his nephew to use at the same time we bought ours, from a different shop though. His also cycles 21g 70mm cases fine, in that it will cycle those loads, but he has had the odd jam on the 2nd cart. I'm not sure what he's done about it or if it was a running in thing but it performed ok last time I saw him use it.
  23. You might have a problem there, I don't think plas or fibre will make a difference, we only use plas here, but most semis are iffy with anything below 67mm cases. We have only ever put 70mm cases through ours and as I said, no problems. I wouldn't buy 65mm ones and would avoid 67mm ones as well if I possibly could. Some might cycle 65mm fine but theres only one way to find out.
  24. Same as above, bouoght one for the Mrs and had no problems with it at all, cycles 21g carts no problems and light on the arms and shoulder.
