    Stud wall help

I would have run the cable up or down and not had this problem.
  3. You're Quite right Mungler it should be done through qualified professionals. I was thinking it would be straightforward in my case as it was only a name change (inheritance) and I had manage all the other proceedings myself with no problems. But theres loads of different forms to fill in and then you have prove who you are though a Solicitor, so its easier to use them and get it right first time. regards Steve.
  4. I am trying to do my own but its looking like a bad idea as the System puts up various Roadblocks. The Searches are easy enough and only cost £1 per person. It also looks like the cheap online guys need avoiding but there's nothing stopping you from distance Conveyancing and using someone around the House area.

    Lost Deeds

Form FR1. Application for first registration. Land registration rules 2003 Trying to self conveyance myself but the system does not make it easy for those not in the know.
  6. I used to be an MOT tester when I worked for the Council. They were not allowed to advertise for work as it was competing with the Private sector. We used to do plenty of class 4/7 tests though for Joe public.

    state pension

My summary says I have 45 years of full contributions. Yet only getting £145.76 a week, but only if I keep on contributing. Otherwise its £127.53 a week. Also no mention of topping up.
  12. Ignore the Tyre fitter and wait until the Mot man tells you its Stuffed. From an ex mot man.
  13. If finances will let you then go for it. Not sure about other trades but dont expect much income to start with. I had about £30 a week for ages but things slowly took shape. I went from being a commercial mechanic on a good wage to now earning £1 per minute doing pure water window cleaning. 2 days per week and coming home at 3. Not all the time but mostly. It depends on your circumstances and finances at the end of the day. Ride the rough times and make the most of the good. Forgot to say, possibly due to a bottle of Malbec that My health and happiness have never been better since taking the plunge.
  14. I bought my portapak bottles outright, Although it was a million years ago.
  15. I was thinking of leaving a spare key with my local RFD. I get on quite well with him and would trust him to sell what's left.
  16. Our Bosch cordless is going strong after about 1 years use. Its used quite a lot, and Henry gets an airing for the stairs and Haircut time. Yes we have a Minion that comes to cut our hair

Will try. I have enough challenges in life without trying to post pictures as well
  18. I've put your link in favorites for further reading when I get chance to sort mine out. The deeds I have for an old terrace house are quite large and bulky. When I paid my Mortgage off, the Halifax kept the deeds for safe storage. Suppose thats irrelevant now if there in Digital form.
  19. The Deeds were probably stashed in some now defunct Solicitors safe.

Apparently First Race is on Sat. Scrutineering tomorrow and Practice on Fri. Seen the reports about needing some ID, due to the Bombing.
  22. If its been in someones family since new as the OP said, and passed down there might be fun and games proving who owns it. That the problem my mate is having as there is no paperwork for any Mortgages. Assuming the OP has a Mortgage and gone through a Solicitor then there must be some paper trail in force.
