  1. Very clever and good advice. Interesting to find out what happened to his students. You could change the world with that philosophy.
  2. Great pics Doc. You would have thought it would have preened itself before the photo shoot.
  3. No sure they could take down a red. They talk about 50 roe. Big difference between the two. Who thinks a Lynx would discern between sheep and calves?
  4. I shall be out before daybreak, weather is looking good.
  5. Well done. You weren't taking chances then.
  6. Well done. That's the way to deal with urban foxes too
  7. A flight of them pass over the red squirrel reserve every morning at day break. You hear them before you see them.
  8. I fitted my snow tyres a month ago. The weather turned mild immediately. so I suppose that proves how effective they are.
  9. Good shooting mate. Yep can't wait till the next Catton shoot. ATB David
  10. Was it a male? They tend to be solitary. Looks like there is plenty of grub about where he came from. Good shot. I have used a 17hmr on them, by baiting a raft with liquidised cat food for a few days, so that they have to lick it off. Sitting under a bush on the other bank, early morning just at day break. Certainly don't want to get your hands near those knashers.
  11. Disagree. On the farm I shoot there are no pheasant released but pheasant breed naturally and this year there are plenty of them. They are not shot or driven onto a row of guns. The only ones to get shot are the ones I shoot with my .22l and that to eat. Very sustainable and selective. I mainly shoot cocks, leaving the hens to breed.
  12. 1008 Another one today with the 22lr. Good news saw two reds as well.
  13. I use to clean mine every trip, but I haven't bothered for 6 months and the accuracy is just as good. Oil the bolt every now and then, it gets tight.
