Basford shoots is about 2 miles from me not been for a few years but a nice friendly informal place. my certificate is up for renewal with Staffordshire police on both shotgun and firearms it’s been with them about 6 weeks they have sent temporary certificates out but not heard from the FLO yet so will have to see how long it takes.

  6. I am doing my renewal at the moment I'm sure on the old form I used to put none since last renewal in the convictions section. I have a couple of old motoring offences and can't for the life of me remember dates or details so will have to put a estimate in and write that on the form.

    I tried ,22 shot shells to kill rats caught in live traps in a shed found them pretty infective even at very close range.

    Keep your eye out on ebay I picked up one for 21 quid a bit rough but workable. Later sold it for 125£ when I was lucky enough to have 1 given to me keep looking they do come at the right price occasionally.

  11. Out in the field I don't think you or the foxes would notice any difference. I have had both I now have a .223 but really don't think you will go wrong with either.
  12. For 1 moment thought you were selling your .223 whitehackle nearly fell off my chair!
  13. Howa every time my son has one in .223 it's very accurate get the trigger sorted by someone who knows how to do it and you can't beat them for the price.

    I have been using this for my basic needs but there is a bow to the top
  17. My advice if you want to keep using cheap scopes don't look down a top of the range one.

    I've just put 1 on eBay and I live near leek it's an old 1 a bit beaten up. I nearly put it on this forum but had never seen 1 advertised so didn't think there would be much interest

  20. Look out for second hand on shooting forums. I bought a Lee classic press,rcbs beam scale and a new set of diesel all pretty cheap then added extras as I went along powder trickler hand primer etc.the results have been excellent.started of with ppu brass but be careful it can become addictive.

Just under12 months ago I got a sako 85 stainless varmint barrel .223 Ase northstar moderator and SB 8x56 scope fired 40 rounds + 60 odd rounds of ammunition for a lot less than 1700£ of another popular forum. So shop around its suprising what comes up. I was going to buy new but saved over 1500£.

  23. Mud won't plug the muzzle as the gun sits side ways on the quad but mud will be thrown onto the barrels and action the inside of my sons benneli barrel is clean as a whistle on the outside it looks like he's stirred a bucket of ith it.
